Ordering 3g alternator, but have a question

The long wire is probably for a rear battery/ kill switch setup, where the charging wire has to be run to the back for the kill switch to kill the car, It doesnt say how long either is though, best bet would be to call and ask unless someone who has bought from them chimes in here....

    Running Hot-baffled!!

Yes the rear passages should be open and the front ones blocked, this usually means one gasket goes on upside down compared to the other, easy to get wrong if you dont pay attention, I can see the part number on my set, little tab sticks out at the lower front corner of each head, Fel Pro 8548PT2's

    Running Hot-baffled!!

What gaskets did you use? you may be able to tell if one is on wrong by looking at the tab that sticks out on the front corner, Fel-Pro's have the gasket number printed there, I looked at mine....passengers side the number is down, drivers side is up.

Definately put antifreeze in it, actually a 50/50 mix will have a lower freezing temp than 100% antifreeze

Stock length is 6.272", I did install the 1.7's at the same time, but I tried the stock rockers also and the preload still wasnt right. I got the pushrods from Summit, of course try the stock length first, they "should" work, and a custom length set will run about $90, milling .030 off the...

Do you have a test light or volt meter? if so, at the starter relay check for power on the wire going to the starter with the key in the "start" position, of course youll need a helper to do this, might take a look at your negative battery cable too, especially where it attaches to the block
