    Explorer 8.8 in a 1966

mrmustangman357, thank you for your post. What does the WMS to WMS measure out to be once the LH side is shortened? I think stock 66 is 57.25. This is very important as I already have wheels and do want to buy new or use spacers.

    Explorer 8.8 in a 1966

I guess $400 does seem a bit steep. It would be worth it if it would just bolt in but that's not the case.

    Explorer 8.8 in a 1966

I know there is a bunch of work to be done, but it seems like a cheap way to get Discs, LSD, and bit more efficiency and strength. Hopefully some others will chime in.

    Explorer 8.8 in a 1966

I have a line on a 1999 Explorer 8.8 for $400. This rear has 35K miles on it, limited slip, 3.73's and is in overall great condition. The car currently has an 8" with drums in it. How much additionally am I going to have to spend to make this work and is it worth the trouble?

Some 43 year old pics of my car

My 66 has been in the family since 1968. Like yours it's had several paint jobs, but unlike yours, mine still looks like crap. Very cool to see the old pics. These car's sure were boring looking when 1966 stock.

What would be the best disc brake swap option for my situation?

Is anyone running Mustang Steve's 12.5" or 13" with 17" AR TT2's? I want to buy the 12.5 kit, but NEED to be certain it will fit within the wheels.

Edelbrock Perfomer Intake vs Edelbrock RPM Intake

I also have a bone stock 2v 289 with the exception of Hooker Long tubes and a 2.5 full exhaust with custom H pipe. I'm not wanting to spend much on the motor as I intend to build something down the road. Is the consensus here the Performer manifold and ~600cfm carb? Just looking for better...

    66 Mustang Front Suspension Rebuild

So my next question is, how much difference is there between the opentracker rollerized arms vs the regular opentracker arms in a street application? I.e., is the performance increased enough to be noticeable enough to justify the cost on city streets?

    66 Mustang Front Suspension Rebuild

I forgot to mention that I already have 620 springs. Disc brakes are definitely in the works as well.

    66 Mustang Front Suspension Rebuild

I have a 66 that is in need of a complete front suspension rebuild. The car will mainly be used for cruising, but I want it to handle well and don't mind spending a bit extra for quality parts that will make a difference. The rear already has all new shackles, bushings, and 5 leaf mid eye...

    1966 2V 4SPD

It looks like the fenders have been rolled but there is still a little left in the front. I think now, the tires would rub while hitting a bump in a turn, but overall, clearance is good. I'm 99% sure the car is the original color, but it's not the original paint. I like the color, but I...

    1966 2V 4SPD

I went with the 4.75" Backspacing. Tire clearance is good, but we'll see how it does after coming down a few inches.
