The e-brake is stuck or needs to be re-adjusted. Perhaps the rear piston or caliper is stuck/binding?

    Bought a used GT500 & Need Advice

As mentioned before, the Shelby GT and GT500 do not have spare tires. They have a repair kit that includes fix a flat and a small air compressor. The kit is sold under the FRPP branding and is about $200-$300.

    Rudolf the Red Nosed Mustang...

I try to keep the Stang as dry as possible. The uncoated steel parts will rust: exhaust manifolds, driveshaft, axle tubes, etc...

    Rudolf the Red Nosed Mustang...

I'm using Goodyear Assurance TripleTreds for the Crown Vic. They got me stuck in 13"+ of snow but was able to keep my Vic in control up to 50 MPH through light snow on the highway. I wouldn't hesitate to put them on the GT if it were a daily driver, although the only major drawback is the...

    Rudolf the Red Nosed Mustang...

Stock S197 tires aren't meant for snow either. BTW, that "snow" you have in your pic is just light slush. We have well over 13" of snow in SE MI and so far it's a light winter. The GT is in the garage, and I've been driving the Crown Vic in the snow.

    Engine movement

Does anyone know how much the stock 4.6 3V moves using the stock engine mounts (in terms of clearance above the intake manifold)?

    Passenger footwell water leak?

Be aware of electrical issues. Ford knew about this and they used some plastic shields around the SJB to channel the water that leaks into the compartment. Rather than FIX the root cause of the leak, they use band-aid fixes for the SJB...

    Your Input: Bilstein

There are reports of Bilstein giving customers the run around with warranty replacements (Where the lower mount broke at the welds). I felt my HD Bilsteins were extremely overdamped with inadequate rebound, so my tires tended to hop over speed bumps at low speed and gave an extremely rough ride...

    Heel-toe downshifting techniques

I'm not sure double-clutching is even useful with our manual gearboxes. I read in Car and Driver about the NASCAR car of tomorrow not needing the clutch other than leaving from a stop, which makes sense. I plan to just use the clutch as intended on a synchronized gearbox.

    Heel-toe downshifting techniques

For normal driving on the street, I would agree with you. Heel-toe downshifting seems to be the only way to properly brake before corners and keep the engine operating within the powerband. The Audi Directshift gearbox, Porsche Dopplekeplung, and other dual-clutch manual transmissions and the...

    Heel-toe downshifting techniques

Let's hear some of your heel-toe downshifting techniques: How are you using your right foot to control the brake and throttle? I wear size 11-12 shoes and find it difficult to find a position where I have great brake pedal feedback/control AND be able to blip the throttle. My normal driving...

How should I clean my motor?

Don't ever wash the engine or at least keep water/fluids away from the COP coils. If you want to get rid of dust/dirt, use compressed air.

+1 79-04 was Fox, through and through with some changes towards the end. 05-up is S197, completely different from Fox.

    2010 Mustang?

You quoted something I wrote over a month ago. Now that I have seen the 2010 reveal photos, I'd say it takes the S197 architecture and applies the same "Superman" philosophy that Ford applied to the Fusion/Milan/MKZ/MKS styling. There is distinct European-inspired styling in the rear and front...

LSD in 2005s - simple question, no guessing.

Every 2003-2004 Cobra, 2005-up Mustang GT, and 2007-up GT500 has carbon fiber clutches installed in the Traction-Lok differential from the factory. Some people complained about clutch chatter, so they brought their Stangs into the dealership and got ripped off by having the dealer install the...

    Differential Fluid Change

They mention Schaeffers, which has a very robust additive package. The additive package makes a bigger difference than if the oil uses a synthetic base stock. However, generally speaking, an over the counter synthetic will suffice but I prefer to order Redline synthetic gear oil.
