    3V Spark plug change hell

If the heads get screwed up by the plugs, then it's time to get new aftermarket/ported cylinder heads with aftermarket camshafts. It's the only solution!:D

Mercon-V is the specification for a certain type of ATF, like Dexron II, III, VI, or Mercon, Mercon-V, and Mercon SP.

    3V Spark plug change hell

The funnier part is the "Top Tier" gas stations all get their gas from 1 supplier in Michigan since there is only 1 refinery in this area (run by Marathon). However, the gas quality definitely varies from station to station. I feel it is MORE important to buy fresh gasoline than a specific brand.

Mercon-V isn't a fully synthetic ATF. Instead it is a synthetic blend at the very least. You can buy fully synthetic Mercon-V ATF but the specification allows for Group II/III blends or Group III. Ford specifies the use of Mercon-V for 2008-up TR-3650s while 2007-up TR-6060s were supposed to...

    Age check.

    I can only say that I've owned and wrenched on Fords with Mustang engines continuously since I was a teenager and all we have now are Fords with V8 engines: 302 V8, 4.6L 2V V8, 5.4L 2V V8, 4.6L 3V V8. I just need a 4.6L 4V, 5.4L 4V, and 5.4L 3V V8 to complete the modular V8 collection.

If the 3650 takes a dump, I am going to upgrade to a 6060. :D

Yes, the previous Mobil 1 ATF already met Mercon / Dex II / Dex III requirements. Mobil 1 ATF as of 2004/2005 met Mercon-V as well as the previous requirements. I use it in my 4R70W and all of my power steering systems. Our TR-3650 is supposed to use Mercon ATF, but the manual does not say...

    Strut Bar and Plenum Cover

Was your previous car a S197? The D2C/S197 platform is totally new and not like the 79-04 Fox which flexes a lot. A lot of people are not convinced on how much rigidity the STB adds on the 2-bolt S197 braces because there's way too much play in the bolt holes. You're only relying on the clamping...

    Strut Bar and Plenum Cover

For the pre-08 GTs, you will want the correct hood liner or else it will rub. Job 2 2007s also got the new hoodliner. FWIW my Job 1 2007 GT would not take the GT500 STB. It would cause the hood to stick up by 1"-2", but Partsbill's GT managed to take it. The STB is really for decorative purposes.

    speed racer---avoid this movie

I got a free Mach 5 car in my cereal box. It's the one that you push back to "wind it up" and it has "turbo" action. If you spray some water on the table, you can get it to lose traction. I've been unable to make it leave 2 black marks on my table though.

    Auto to Manual..??

I like the manual transmission better. I tuned my 4R70W so that there's almost no delay doing manual shifts, but it still just doesn't feel the same as rowing the gears myself.

I'm being quoted $700-800 for gear swap?!

DIY, just pay for the parts. It doesn't take too long. Or find a ring and pinion shop.

    Exhaust opinion - 2008 GT 5spd

Check my signature, it's a manual 07 GT w/ factory 3.55s They droned badly at 1800-2000 RPM to the point I couldn't stand them anymore. If you're into loud mufflers, you may want to give them a try. I think the stock cats and stock H-pipes really held them back. I heard a co-worker's 05 GT...

    Exhaust opinion - 2008 GT 5spd

I used the Pypes Violators for 6 months and went back to stock. I couldn't stand the drone and I'm a believer that you can lose your hearing if you subject yourself to the droning. I just want the car to go fast but sound good. I feel that Ford did a great job with the OE exhaust system.

I was going to say that it's probably a good time to take a power boat through the highway and film it so you can post it on YouTube. Glad you and the stang are OK.

    New Lincoln MKS

The news that the MKS was expected to receive the EcoBoost V6 was already released months ago. The current MKS AWD just doesn't handle anywhere as good as a foreign car of the same price. I would pay at most $35k for the MKS AWD. I don't see any justification to sell it at $48k.

    New Lincoln MKS

Brian, I understand that Lincoln has a different target demographic in mind than the Mustang platform, but the average customer is going to look at the dollar figure and the amount of performance they get. For $48k, I have a choice between a fully loaded Audi A4 3.2 Quattro with 40/60...

    New Lincoln MKS

The new 2.5L DOHC I4 does get 171+ hp and is already available in the US and European Mazda6. It was supposed to be available for the 2009 Mazda3 but we may see it in the 2010 Mazda3. It is a direct-injected version of a slightly modified 2.3L DOHC I4. For details, just look at the 2009 Mazda6...

    New Lincoln MKS

Considering 90% of the power is transmitted to the front wheels in the MKS AWD, I wouldn't doubt C&D's analysis. If you want to pay $48k for a mobile iPod interface with leather interior, go right ahead. It just seems odd anyone on a Mustang forum would even like an understeer-laden POS like the...
