Differences between the S197 model years?

I know the A-Arm brace was equipped on all GTs (regardless if it was the GT500 or convertible) starting Job 2 MY 07, as my Job 1 07 didn't have one. However, I heard that all 2007s got the extra welds/sheetmetal since the GT500 debuted early in the 07 MY. I added the OEM brace and felt some...

Differences between the S197 model years?

They changed the layout of the strut towers - you can see how they moved the flanges where the wires bolt and stuff. From my Job 1 stang, it looks like they moved the stuff out of the way to fit something wide, I can only assume the 5.4L quad-cam V8. Do you have any pics of the non-sealed...

Differences between the S197 model years?

My Job 1 2007 GT has a very different strut tower setup than 05-06 GTs.

    New Lincoln MKS

They tested the MKS AWD w/ the 3.7L V6 in Car and Driver. It is an understeering piece of dog***** with a decent interior and SYNC. It is not going to be an Audi killing beast and in fact, the MKS AWD V6 is $48k as tested. I could buy a 2009 Audi A4 3.2 Quattro with a 40/60 (front/rear) power...

    08 GT transmission noise

Tremec's manuals are all Hencho en Mexico (Made in Mexico). The problem is, the Big 3's performance cars with manuals will all use Tremecs. The Corvette, Z06, Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR, Ford GT500, Challenger SRT-8 (09 w/ manual) use the TR-6060. You'll have to look at Japanese or German...

    Steeda G-trac Brace

You might be able to install both the OEM brace and the Steeda G-Trac. An even stiffer crossmember shouldn't hurt.

    Steeda G-trac Brace

Only late 07s got them. My 07 was Job 1 and did not come with the factory brace. I installed the OEM brace and that's about it. The Steeda G-Trac brace doesn't do as much as the OEM brace, and it relies on the weakest part of the bolts for stiffness. The OEM brace ties the rear-most part of the...

Sim racers thought you might know...

Does it accurately model rear-wheel drive, front-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive? I've been playing GTR2 and Race 07 WTCC. I'm anxious to try GTR Evolution which has the Audi R8 (production and race version). The R8 is supposed to have Quattro, so I am trying to find out if Evo models an AWD...

So my parents and I traded cars for a few months...

Walter, I can't find the BURN MP3 CD function in Nero 7. Is it found in Nero 8 or newer? I recommend the XP built-in function because most people will have this and I haven't run into any problems with my Shaker 500. In fact, I started burning CDs this way for my Aiwa MP3 CD player (in the 2000...

So my parents and I traded cars for a few months...

To eliminate skipping with the MP3 CD function using the Shaker 500, use a quality CD-R/CD-RW disc and burn it using Windows XP's built-in burning function (right clicking, etc...) Avoid using a dedicated burning app such as Nero, Roxio, or other programs. Once I did this, the Shaker 500 works...

    No boss for the F-150.

We'll see what happens in about 6 months. MY2010 is literally right around the corner.

    08 GT transmission noise

+1 I put in Redline High Temp ATF (thickest synth Mercon ATF I could find) and it shifts better. It's still noisy: lots of whirring and rattling at idle, but I cannot complain to be perfectly honest.

    No boss for the F-150.

Rumor is that the 5.0 will be modular gen-2

    No boss for the F-150.

The Domestic Big 3 have never been able to make a V6 that sounds good. They either sound like weed whackers/lawn mowers or they don't make any noise at all. The foreign (Japanese and German) V6s/I6s sound very good.

    No boss for the F-150.

The Boss was never considered for the Mustang. The 5.0L DOHC V8 is supposed to be available in a 2010+ Mustang (maybe a 2010 Special Edition Boss) but the 6.2L Boss V8 was only intended for the F-series.

    My 2009 Bullitt Test Drive

The S197 is more comfortable and quieter than the G6, Impala, Crown Vic, and many other cars. What would make the S197 even better: -factory optioned sunroof -telescoping steering wheel -pedal adjustments (with larger accelerator for better heel-toe shifting for people with large feet)...

    08 GT transmission noise

My 07 GT gearbox is noisy as well. If you shift into Neutral and let it idle, you can hear a whirring noise. Let the clutch out, and the noise disappears. Release the clutch and the noise comes back. It's definitely the gearbox and not the TOB or rear-diff. I've noticed it can make a WHIRR...

Burned out the stock clutch today

What's preventing us from going with a GT500 clutch setup? The OEM GT500 clutch is supposed to be a dual-disc or some other design that can hold up to more torque. Tremec's website shows the 3650 as being rated just about as much as our engines make, so I'd probably consider a 6060 if you want...
