how bad of a problem is this? Motor install?

It doesnt sit 100% in the center of the car. Dont sweat it. As mentioned, if you didnt change anything, (mounts) it should be fine.

Mods you wish you had not made???

I dont know if I regret it, but if I had to do all again, I would have built my car from scratch instead of buying the one that I did. I would have also bought my welder sooner and done my own cage and suspension.

    nuts and bolts..

As long as everything is in good shape, you are in no danger of having anything break because you add the weight of a V8.

    rear end

If you have a factory v8 car of the vintage in your sig, then you have a 8.8 rear. Probably a 2.73 or 3.08 gears. I believe that 2.73's are most common.

    nuts and bolts..

Grade 8 stuff at the small Ace and True value stores. They usually have people in there that can match up what you need in a second. Takes 10 times longer to find the same stuf at depot (if they have it). I am not aware that ARP makes suspension bolts. Grade 8 is more than enough...

Ok,this isnt "5.0" tech..but it Ford big block

dont start this crap here. Cubes make power. Dont even try to compare a nascar prepped 289 to a 1974 smog choked station wagon 460. Hp=torquexrpm/5252. ONLY bad things about a BB are size and weight. if not turning corners, this can be compensated for by moving the engine farther back in a...

Ok,this isnt "5.0" tech..but it Ford big block

460's are cheap and easy to find. They can take a good bit of hp. Police interceptor heads are a decent factory head for a hot rod. For a serious drag motor, you need a real head. a 460 out of a truck with a carb, intake and headers will make that falcon run 12's with traction. Possibly...

    Damn my interior stinks

There is a water absorber that walmart, home depot, etc sell. It will pull all of the moisture out of the interior and actually fill the container with the water. That combined with a good vacuum should do the trick. Worked on my parents cars that got flooded (twice).

Where did you mount your NHRA legal battery disconnect switch?

There was a thread a while ago, but I couldnt find it. Here is one way to do it. All tread with wingnuts works great to quickly take the plate off at the track. http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=522620&highlight=cut+switch Forgot to mention to scroll down to grover dill. To be...

    05 drag buildup

Surprised me as well that they started with the more expensive GT. Possible they had it, beat the tar out of it and possibly broke it, so said why not. Hopefully it is paid for.

Solid or Hydralic flat tappet for my 351W?

Thanks. Totally gutted car. Very tight converter. It might get out the hole a little better if I could stall it past 1500. Probably the only thing that has saved the stock axles.

99 gt transmission stronger?? than fox tranny?

Why cant you get another belhousing for the tranny? Seems simple enough. How does the input shaft compare with that of the V8 T-5?

Solid or Hydralic flat tappet for my 351W?

Yeah, about 15k. A solid flat cam is the way to go. A solid roller is sweet, but it is about $600 more than the flat solid. Flat solid = $400, Roller Solid = $1000. Talking cam, lifters, springs, pushrods. Take a look at my vid and my sig. You cant beat a 351 with a nice cam. Very simple...

    Your dream car.. in reality??

Mine would be any fox chassis (mustang, fairmont, 87bird with a 540+ BB and minitub with dumps and huge rear tires. OD would be very nice. That or the same chasis with a turbo 393. Fuel injection would be preferred for either. I am too busy trying to have financial security 30 years...

Cooling Fan Clutch Bad or Good???

My dad filled his 8 clutch with silicone. It was an 8 blade plastic fan. 4 speed with 4.56 gears. People would stop on the streets and look to see what was coming. Good ole 77 chevy luv half breed isuzu.

Cooling Fan Clutch Bad or Good???

Not exactly, but it does take a minute or two to warm up. My 250 sounds like it will take off when the fan clutch is cold. After a couple of blocks, it settles down.

    Pop-starting--can you do it?

Just a note, the battery needs to be there to keep the alternator from spiking the voltage to god knows how high. It will seriously fry some electronics.
