    Sold Stang

I havent been very active on the board lately because I havent been very active with my car or racing. I finally found a buyer for my car yesterday. He brought cash and I gave him the car. I didnt get squat for it, but for a race car thats not testable it was acceptable for me. I cant...

    battery location

You cant really fuse the starter wire. What you can do to make it more safe is to move the starter solenoid so that the huge wire is not hot the entire time. You'll need to extend a feed to power all of your accessories and you can fuse that one at the battery and at the alternator.

Moroso Electric Drive water pump...How do they work???

Works fine on my race car. Have had no problems for years. Keeps the motor cool. A replacement motor can be obtained at a parts store by getting a 79 mustang blower motor. I forget if it is with AC or not. I dont know how you'd route the rest of the stock belt around that cogged setup...

    Changing Cams

I have a bad bank 2 camshaft where the lifter failed and took the camshaft with it. I am going to order a stock replacement cam for that side and change it. I have the procedure, am ordering the parts, but I need the tools. I intend to take the camshaft out without removing the front timing...

    carburater questions

I suggest you go with a single intake such as a victor jr or a victor. A Holley Ultra HP carb or a race demon carb are good choices. I run a mildly modified holley double pumper on my drag mustang.

Power amp w/out cutting through firewall ('07)

These seem like a good idea. Ive worked with the kind for external battery charger hookups, but not these, same idea. Cut a hole, seal it and have a water-tight pass-through. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=SUM%2DG1431&view=1&N=700+400304+4294843864

    351w swap

If you want to stay fuel injected, any ford truck fuel injected dizzy will work. If not, get a duraspark III type if you are going carbed. You will need the right type of drive gear to match your cam type (roller or flat).

    Manual brakes, anyone running them?

Stock good condition breaks, SS lines, 88 chrysler minivan mastercylinder with the largest bore, moved the piviot point higher on the mastercylinder. All new lines bent. My brakes stink! I have a problem with my rears grabbing. I dont know why. Unless you get a complete engineered race...

    painless wiring?

I have one in my drag car. Its an 8 circuit fused panel that mounts to the rollbar or flat panel. I have it mounted overhead on my halo. The wires are good quality and every wire is labeled and color coded. Its still a bit of work even though everthing is well layed out. I have never had an...

Help my starter wont shut off!!!

If he doesnt have a voltmeter, just pull the small wire off the solenoid and see if the starter still engages with the little wire off. I think realistically as Hisson said you may have the bat and starter lead on the same side of the solenoid. Shoot us a picture of the solenoid.

Are All Modular Camshafts the same?

I am not doubting any info here. I was hoping for some specific part numbers. Its ok now. My concern has been thoroughly answered. 29 hp is not that bad of a loss for a truck, when you step back and think about it.

Are All Modular Camshafts the same?

I am surprised that Ford decided to use the same camshaft for so many applications. I am dissapointed that the non-mustang apps are not running 260hp. It seems that they could make the torque and make th 260 at the same time.

Are All Modular Camshafts the same?

Why would the same camshaft have different part numbers? I am also surprised that the cams are the same. It seems that the 4.6 in the truck would have 260 hp. Good engineers should be able to tune a good torque curve. I got into it with a poster on a truck forum about this post. Aparently, I...

Are All Modular Camshafts the same?

This is something I want to know for my own info. I am talking apples for apples here. Lets set the parameters. 02 2v Mod motor same plant. Lets say windsor. Does the crownvic, explorer, F-150 and mustang all use the same camshaft? I am talking about lift, duration, part numbers all...

Did 3.73 rearend swap.. now thing but more problems

After I thought about this for a while, something occured to me. Even with 4.56 gears your RPM's would not be 4500 at 60. I dont think that the 8.8 even goes much higher than that for gear ratio availability. My bet is still a broken axle or something wrong in the carrier. If the axle is...

Did 3.73 rearend swap.. now thing but more problems

What about a completely broken axle? Did you pull the axles when you installed the new rear? You can jack the car up and in neutral both axles should spin the same direction (posi) or in opposite directions (open). If you can hold one tire with no resistance the axle might be broken. If the...
