Did 3.73 rearend swap.. now thing but more problems

Make sure that you have the right gears. Mark the tire and the yoke. The yoke should spin 3 and 3/4 turns for every 1 turn you rotate the tire. Anything wildly different and you dont have the gears you think you have. I just dont understand what could possibly be happening. How do you know...

engine dies when unhooking battery, alternator dead right??

I didnt see it on a fox, but I did on an 86 150 and 94 nissan sentra. I can tell you exactly what I did that caused a spike. I disconnected the battery and increased the electrical load and the engine RPM to increase the output. On the 150 I blew out 2 headlights instantaneously. On the...

    Line Lock Wont Hold

One simple thing you may want to check is that you are getting good 12v and more importantly a good ground for the unit. Dont assume that you are, check it. If not, it sounds like it may be an issue with the roll control unit. I have the chepo, did the 3-2 conversion and it works very well.

Legal to do a 4 cyl to 5.0 fox swap in CA?

If it was an option for that year vehicle, then yes. In otherwords 87lx 4 banger, you can swap a same year or newer 5.0 because it was it an option. You must of course swap all of the emissions hardware and have it functional.

    AOD-5spd final gear ratio

OD for the T5 and AOD is about the same. The AOD is .67. There for if your TC is locking and entering OD, your highway rpm will be basically the same. EDIT: Did some quick research and found that the V8 T5 has a OD of .68. The Motorsport version was available with a .63 OD gear.

best stroker kit for a windsor

I think for boosted/juiced applications that the 393 or even 383 is a better combination. There are a bunch of good brands out there. ff

Need quick help with window switch problem

The window system is a tad odd bit of wiring. Normally the whole system is grounded. Both leads to the motor are grounded. When the up or down is pressed, one side stays grounded, the other feeds the voltage. The reason it is wired like this is 2 fold. 1 the motor immediately stops when the...

    Coolant Bypass Line?

Agreed, this is an emissions port. Probably some EGR lines. Exhaust will come out of those ports if not plugged.

    smoothed engine bay

Satin is a good choice for an engine bay. Gloss shows everything and flat is too flat. I dont know how waxing would affect a satin paint. It might not work exactly right. I assume you want to keep the greese down and for easy washing. BTW looks good.

How much punishment can the stock rear-end take?

In my automatic car with a tight converter, I have made over 100 passes with a totally stock rear with 4.30's. My six foots typically run in the 1.68's. I dont use the car as a daily driver and if it grenades, then I got what I earned. I still have stock control arms, posi, axles, brakes...

wana make alot of power with my winsor

Milodon 7 quart for the 351 in a fox. Summit part number MIL-31126 $245.88 Moroso 7 quart for 351 in a fox. Summit part number MOR20520 $219.95. I have the Ford Motorsports pan in my stang and I have windage issues. Possibly these other pans would help keep the oil out of the crank. You would...

wana make alot of power with my winsor

I'm talking about stock rods and crank and new forged pistons. this combo will be good as long as you keep the revs below 7k for drag racing and street duty. Depending on your fuel requirements, if you have steel heads and want pump gas keep it around 9.5 to 1. With aluminum heads you could go...

wana make alot of power with my winsor

Heres my suggestions for a budget 351. Balanced bottom end with some forged pistons. roush 200 (dart windsor sr) heads, cam matched to your gears. Solid Roller if you can afford it, solid flat if you cant. Airgap intake and a 750 carb either vac or double pump. Make sure you have the fuel pump...

log onto www.ford-trucks.com I dont know if they have swap info specifically, but a bunch of good ford truck resources. Will an old Distributor work??

For ultimate in simplicity, a HEI dist for a ford has minimum wiring. You need to know if you have a roller motor or not to get the right dist gear. Summit has a drop in kit for a ford for 225 with the roller steel gear in place. As long as you are carbed, you can go with whatever you want. I...
