    Valve cover leaking

Been having oil smoking off exhaust manifold for a long time. This morning while replacing radiator, heater hoses, and thermostat I found that the front valve cover bolt by coil pack was missing and the next one back was loose. Guess I now know where the oil was coming from. Any suggestions on...

    Icm keeps going bad

So far so good. The cracked/broken plug must have been the issue that was causing the code.

    Icm keeps going bad

104,500 right now. My 18 yr old has been driving it daily but I drove it today. Nothing like fishtail ing on ice covered roads, lol. Now in looking for some plug wire separators. The ones that attach to the valve cover snapped in the cold when I opened them. I may be able to find some local. If...

    Icm keeps going bad

I found a broke plug on the exhaust side, #2. It's really wired since its the easiest to get to and I don't think I broke it while removing it. It was broke clean through right where the ceramic part starts all the way through the center copper. I won't know for sure if that was messing up the...

    Icm keeps going bad

Oreilly auto parts. It is a Borg Warner. I never had a problem with this brand until now. I'm planning on changing plugs, wires, and icm in the morning. It's a very good possibility that the part is just bad. Changing plugs/ wires just in case there is some arcing or short somewhere.

    Icm keeps going bad

I have replaced the icm twice and it has gone out after about 2 weeks. Am I just getting bad ones or is there something that could be toasting them. I used dielectric grease when mounting. Thanks in advance.

    Code 181

I cleaned the maf sensor and cleared the code. A secondary problem I had about a month ago was my air filter was saturated with oil. I thought I had it fixed by changing the pcv valve, but today I noticed there was still some oil in the air intake tube and at the throttle body. I guess it...

    Code 181

Well, its been a while, but I'm back with a problem, lol. Pulled a code 181 after the Check Engine Light popped on and off. Anyone have any quick checks or things to replace first? From what I have found so far, it shows a lean condition. Maybe changing out the fuel filter would be the...

    Plugs...and then some.

I only swiveled the alternator out of the way and maybe some of the intake. I get the warranty plug wires, cause it seems like every time one of the wires breaks off from the clip, especially the passenger side. Always use Autolites.

    Part ID

Glad you got it running. The icm and coil packs seem to be the places to go first on starting or running issues. Usually the tach will not register right when the icm starts going out also.

Are you 2.3 owners still here?

Still here, driving the 93 every other day to work, over 101,000 now on her. Very dependable, only thing not working right now is the A/C. Just don't really need it so haven't spent the $$ to get it looked at. She is only a 2.3, but still scares my 16 yr old to drive her. Could be because...
