    tire size calculator??

That link is dead. I meant to add that I wanted a calculator or formula that included the wheel width. All that I have found only have input for tire size ie. 285/35/19... the width of the wheel will also have an effect on the overall diameter.... 285/35/19 on 8.5 in wheel would be a little...

    Magnaflow: uneven tail pipes.....

I just installed my Magnaflow CB last week and had no problems. There was plenty of room for adjustment in the hangers that swivel on top of the tips. After getting the car off the lift there was maybe 1/8 inch difference in over all height. The drivers side hung just a little lower than the...

Where to buy catback with no mufflers??? Just want tubing

Also, the shop will just make it fit. All the aftermarket companies spend tons of time and money researching flow data and fine tuning every turn and bend. You may be able to save $100 or so but whats the difference between $500 and $600? I was considering the same thing when choosing my...

Where to buy catback with no mufflers??? Just want tubing

+1 Just have a shop custom build it. However, sometimes it actually ends up being more expensive to go the custom route. After materials and labor the price can get up there, especially using stainless pipe.

    new tires rubbing in front

Ah, my bad. 245/50 = 25.65 in and 215/60 = 26.16 in If you think that the tire is rubbing the sway bar then the tire is to wide, especially since the overall diameter is smaller. You could either stick with the 245's and get a smaller series or step down to 235's and stick with the...

    idle/start problem. Help!

Hard to tell from the information so far but off the top of my head, I would say it sounds like a misfire. You have come to the right place for answers though. :D Lots of ford techs and knowledgable wrenchers here.

    the 4.6 ticking sound

I usually retorque my plugs every oil change. I like the piece of mind more than the extra 15 min. it takes to check up on them. Usually you can have all the plugs torqued before the oil is completely done draining anyways. +1 on the antisieze. definately a must :nice:

    new tires rubbing in front

^^^ Actually the 245/55's are a bit taller than the 215/60's 245/55/16 = 27.57 inches 215/60/16 = 26.16 inches The series # ***/55/** is actually a % of the width of the tread ie.. 245/55/16 = the sidewall height is 55% of the 245 width 215/60/16 = the sidewall height is 60% of the 215...

    new tires rubbing in front

You should be able to run whatever the stock size was. Im not sure what that is though. My 99 had 17's from the factory. I can tell you that those were 245/45's. If your planning on sticking with the factory rims I would just go back to the factory tire size. EDIT: Try to stay away from...

oil out of the exhaust pipes??

Most exhaust shops will use "pipe dope" during assembly at the joints. This will cause a small amount of liquid to exit out the back until the excess is burnt off. Being that your motor is basically brand new, I really wouldnt worry to much about the black substance. Just keep an eye on it...

oil out of the exhaust pipes??

Yeah, its most likely just some condensation that has collected in your exhaust and been mixed with the gases on their way out. Have you just recently had new exhaust installed??

    starter

After trying all kinds of extensions and wobbly combinations, thinking it was harder than it actually was, a small 1/4 drive ratchet and shallow socket was able to reach the top one. It was a HUGE pain in the ass until I realized the eaziest solution was the right one. p.s. I did install...

    o2's

I couldnt say how it still runs but it seems to be running strong. I have only driven the car 20 miles since the install (to and from the exhaust shop). I still dont have a new front bumper and its not being driven until then. I wont fire the car until some O2's have been installed. I was...

    the 4.6 ticking sound

the 7mm bolt is holding the coil to the intake, which in turn is holding onto the plug. The plugs are still threaded into the head.

    o2's

I dont remember seeing the front O2 plugs before dropping the new motor in. They must be there though. Ill have to fish around for them. Any suggestions on the cheapest spot to find new sensors?

    o2's

You can buy plugs to fill the holes. Check your with your local exhaust installer, Midas or anyone similar should have them and they're MUCH cheaper than O2 sensors. Along the same lines....I installed a Bassanni catted x and do not know where the fronts plug into. There are two female...
