    Top Gear Tonight

BBC Top Gear is probably my favorite show, I can't make it through 10 minutes of the American Top Gear. They make a bad car show almost as successfully as Sons of Guns makes a bad gun show. Anyone know when the new season of Top Gear starts?

    tires

A lot of it depends on what your priorities are. If your goal is to have the tire last 40,000 miles, then I am not really all that familiar with what would work best. I autocross my car and want to get about 15,000 miles out of a set. Some autocross specific street tires that have a good...

    tires

How do you use the car? If it is your daily driver, get the Invo; if you are willing to sacrifice tire life for acceleration, then get the NT555R. There are better alternatives to both options, but let us know what you are trying to do and you can get some advice.

    800 HP

Don't take this the wrong way, but if you have never done any track driving, learn how to drive first. If you build an 800 hp car and then go try to learn, you will either wreck the car, or become extremely frustrated when the Miata that you blew by on the straights keeps catching you in the...

    Installation for springs

You will have to get a spring compressor to put them on the front struts, you will need one to get the old springs off as well. If you just take the nut off the strut you could really hurt yourself. The rears are very easy and do not require a compressor.

    What New Tires For Bullitt

How do you use your car? If its a daily driver used in the rain the recommendations should be different than a nice weather weekend car. Do you want better tire life or more grip? How much do you want to spend? All would be useful information for us to recommend something.

    roush or ford suspension

If you want to autocross, I wouldn't choose either one. I had the Roush set up and I have replaced the shocks already and would replace the springs and the sway bars if I had the money. I replaced my Roush shocks with Koni Sports, aka "yellows" and I like them a lot better, they are adjustable...

    Axle Back or Cat Back

The stock exhaust flows fine, there really isn't a performance gained by replacing it from the cats back. The stock mufflers flow well too, an axle back will change the sound, but not really gain any power. The power gains come from long tube headers and replacing the stock H pipe with an off...

    Shifter movement

I have a CHE K member brace with torque limiters that prevents the transmission from moving. It is not all that expensive and is easy to install yourself. The shifter is not directly mounted to the transmission, and the K member brace is more meant to improve shifting during acceleration, not...

Please post your opinion/advice on Parts

By the time you get headers, the heads, cams, intake manifold, etc. you might as well get a blower. The installation on those parts is not really any easier than buying a Roush M90 blower or one of the centrifugal superchargers. The blowers also come with tunes so that you don't have to get a...

Question about wheel and tire sizes

Because the second number is not a set dimension. The second number is called the aspect ratio, and it is based on the width. Taking the 275 width tire as an example, the tire is 275mm wide or 10.83"; the 40 means that the sidewall height is 40% as tall as the width, which is 4.33 inches. The...

    Autocross Videos

I will post more videos next week, I have an event this sunday. I would recommend autocross to anyone, it teaches you so much about how your car behaves at its limits. It kind of gets doing stupid things on the street out of your system too. It is not hard on the car either compared to drag...

    Autocross Videos

That last gate is tight and if you didn't look ahead enough you end up going almost straight at it, understeer like that is the result.

    Autocross Videos

I took some GoPro video at my last autocross event in Hartford, CT. I usually come in third behind a 480 awhp STi on Hoosier A6 and a Lotus Elise. The STi wins by a lot, the Lotus beat me by about a hundredth on his last run. I will try to embed them, links for now...

    V6 and GT Suspension Differences?

The parts are completely interchangeable, the GT suspension is firmer than the V6 suspension. I am not sure if there is a difference in the coupe vs. convertible. You should be able to get either setup very cheap, I pretty much gave my stock suspension away since the guy picked it up.

    Ruined my GT

Depending on how much you want to spend, try Koni STR.T for non adjustable or Koni Sports if you want to be able to fine tune the damping. Steeda Sport springs pair up well with either damper. I like my Koni Sports a lot, better than the Roush dampers that they replaced.

    better tire grip?

Neither the Nitto Invo nor the NT555 will perform as well as the PZero, unless you have the PZero Nero which is an all season. I had the Invo, and they were good in the rain and quiet, they did not have very good dry grip. The Invo is more of a touring tire than a performance tire. The...
