    As I recall, there are two types of starters for these cars, Long-nose (or something to that effect) and short-nose. Most cars (though this is not invariable) with manual transmissions require long-nose types, while autos take the shorter one. I can't remember why, I jsut remember reading it...

    69stang351: I'd be glad to, but it won't be until summer, if that makes a difference. I've gotta have a daily driver to get to school and back until the end of spring quarter. After that, I'm gonna try to sell mine and pick up a new one (well, an OLD one... but you know what I mean...)...

    I have a desk that I typically set my laptop on at home (so I guess this wouldn't work as well if you're always taking it places... :shrug: ). I cut two holes in the desk and mounted standard desktop case fans in the holes. They're powered by a 100 watt power supply I tore out of an old 486...

    Keep the grabber one. I absolutely love sportsroofs, so I'm into either. You said the grabber had a 3spd, but if you aren't so concerned with originality, swap them! Go for the Tremec, totally. I just love black interiors, too. not such a fan of blue, and I agree, it does look GOOD...

    in my 69, with a 200, 3spd stick, pertronix ignitor and flamethrower coil I've done 96 on really bad tires with 3 people in the car. Haven't tried it again since doing a bunch of stuff to it.

    my method is totally remove the adjusting screws, then lock a pair of needlenose vicegrips on the spring REALLY tight, and just ream on it until it goes in. There are probably better methods. :shrug:

    How much time am I talking to get my flywheel resurfaced? I can't imagine it's very involved. could I just tear my tranny out, get the flywheel, drive it to a shop in my mom's car, get it machined, and put it all back together in like 8 hours? Price, too?
