Cowl replacement on a 69-70 stang....

I took the redneck way out. I first sanded the inside of the cowl area to see how badly Rusted the whole area was. After I saw that it was only a couple of pinholes, I gave it a couple of coats with Eastwood's rust converter. Sanded again and then laid down about 3-4 layers of fiberglass on top...

    67/68 Fastback for parts

I'm sorry. For trunk corners, do you mean the rear fender extensions? Well, I have both sides of rear fender extensions (1 new and 1 used) and trunk drop offs (both new) for sale that I have for a '68 coupe...If you're interested.

Body and paint, or mechanics first?

Ahh. At least for me, I know the issue is a yearly budget. Which prohibits two expensive processes from going on at the same time.

Body and paint, or mechanics first?

I'm glad I read this thread. I was going to do: 1. mechanical 2. electrical 3. body and paint 4. Interior and weatherstripping The thing is that my car doesn't even have an engine or a tranny in it right now. I wanted to shove that in there prior to fitting new body panels in case the car...

    Heat and sound deadening material

If you look at some of the car audio forums, there's a lot of support for Damplifier and Damplifier pro. If you don't want that, the consensus is that butyl mats are much better and less smelly than their asphalt counterparts. I can't personally attest to their claims, though.

    Permatex Rust Converter

I've done that a lot in the interior and under the car prior to the application of the undercoating. But I'm most concerned about areas like the top of my car. I have some minor surface rust that I'm going to mechanically get rid of but I want to neautralize the rest before laying on a coat of...

    Permatex Rust Converter

Anyone here ever use Permatex Rust Converter? So far, I've used it on small parts for the interior that reay aren't seen and I like the result. However, now I want to use it on some parts that will be seen/painted and want to know if someone has used this under paint? I would hate to use...

    Engine Search Story

Good Catch. People who lack customer service abilities in any industry get on my nerves. I was going to get an engine from Keith Craft. (mostly because they are about an hour and a half drive from here.)

Anyone Build there own Subwoofer boxes

If you want some good info about building Subwoofer Boxes, do a search on the Home Theater Forum. In general, subwoofer boxes need to be very rigid. 3/4" MDF is what is used on a number of speaker boxes and is what you will probably get if you have the box made at a Car Audio store. Be careful...

    What Primer?

After I the self-etching primer, I bought a cheap rattle can of paint from O'Reilly's and gave the door a good coat of that. Then I sanded the bottom 1/4 of the interior and put on a thick coat of 3M 8883 undercoating. That ought to hold off the rust on the interior of the door. I'll take the...

    What Primer?

Hello All, Right now, I am reskinning the doors for my 69 Stang. While I'm at it, I decided to take off all the paint on the door shells and wire wheel off any rust...and patch up some of the rust holes on the door. I eventually plan on painting the car with PPG primers and paints. Is there...

    '69 Side Scoops

Hmmm, I might see if I can modify the stock scoops for trunk venting. I'm looking at having some serious amps in there so the extra air won't hurt. Thanks to all for their input.

    '69 Side Scoops

I agree. I was looking at making my stock side scoops functional somehow.

    '69 Side Scoops

Has anyone made or is there a kit that makes the '69 Side scoops functional? I know that there really isn't a benefit unless you're racing, but a part of me just doens't like non-functional scoops. It just seems kinda'..........rice.

    Now what?

Part of me wanted to do the body work on the car next, but I thought that it would really suck to have all the body work done...then scratch the hell out of it while doing everything else.

    Now what?

OK. I have a crossroads right now and am unsure how to proceed. I think that each route has its pros and cons, but I want to hear what y'all have to say. I have a '69 Mustang Mach 1. It's a shell, really. Other than the body, all that's on it is the front and rear suspension (sans brakes)...
