Usually the wear indicated chirps and then stops when you brake. If they are new pads check to see if they do have wear indicators and see if the installor poss bent one in far enough to make contact or they didn't put new brakes on the front and they are worn enough to chrip!
Take the guard off and measure the pulley Diameter. Stock is 3.65inchs Just a 1/2 inch difference which with the guard on and trying to eyeball it may not be noticeable and will peg the gauge.
I owned a 97 cobra that was steedaized.
steeda has three levels from starting to full G trac, I was just front control arms short of full G trac. Car looked and handled great and didn't ride harsh.
I think I still have a pic.
I agree with U.M.
4:10/4:30 were great in N/A cobras but I don't think you will be real happy with them in an 03.
My buddy has a 93 fox body with 3:73s, After we installed an S trim and he's putting out 522 RWHP he switched to 3:27s
Clean the surface as suggested above.
Then mix a little soap with water in a spray bottle and wet the area so you can move the letters in postion. Once you have them located lightly squeeze the water out. I used my drivers license!
I have a steeda 3.1 pulley with a gatorback 74.5 belt
I was told by alot of techs that 3.1 is about the border line for no chip. Try it and have it dynoed. These car do run pig rich so your A/F could be fine. If you decide to chip it spend the money on the Predator. You won't be sorry.
I use JBA shorties on my cobra. When I had my tick repaired they had the engine out so I figured it was a good time(free labor).
Hp increase is minimal BUT for me it was worth every penny for the decrease in underhood temp!
