    Rack & Pinion questions

No you cannot convert to power from the manual rack. You can't put any sort of "in-line" booster which would operate on the input shaft since there's not space to work. The manual rack is fun on the street, but on the track or autocross course it's a bear. 5280/4 - I don't believe the...

New Hood Hinges Stiff As Crap---HELP!!!

Some white lithium grease will do wonders for a sticky hinge. Granted, probably won't solve the whole issue, but should help some.

    Rack & Pinion questions

You might consider Steeroids as well. I have a TCP rack (manual) and want to convert to power, but can't quite conjur up the funds to get a TCP power unit. Seriously looking at the Steeroids racks, but there are fitment issues with my headers (and you can't use the clutch z-bar without...

    Custom Rear Suspension sources?

Your best and cheapest bet is probably to look at Circletrack parts. A lot of stockcars run 3-link suspensions (example of upper links here: Top Links And Trailing Arms) Some good sources: High Performance Racing Parts, Car Racing Parts, Off Road Auto Racing Parts Stock Car Products -...

Smell like gas after driving car (real bad)

I recall a post at one point where a similar complaint was made and the poster ended up replacing the rubber line between the filler neck and the tank. Evidently it was seeping gas through, not enough to see, but you could certainly smell it. I've got a problem in my car as well, although...

Quick Question about Wheel Sizes for 67

Those wheels in the ebay link have 4.5" backspace which is the correct backspace for most of the classics (same as my 16x8 Vintage 45s). So, these have different backspace than a late model wheel which is something like 5.9" or there about.

What Seats Will Fit in a '67-'68 Mustang

I have the SN95s in my car (in the commonly available tan leather). They do sit high which can be countered some by lowering the seat pan. One thing to consider is what you want to do with the car. The SN95 seats have next to zero bolstering, hard corners = hanging onto the wheel for dear...

quick questions for the welding experts

Be very careful if you end up using and extension cord with a welder. If the cord gets "warm", it's undersized. Make sure to check the amperage on the welder and on the cord before you weld otherwise you're asking for trouble.

    My 3 link update

Is there a reason you went with the approach you did? Since you gutted everything, I'm a little confused as to why you didn't run the link from the top of the axle like most other 3-links... Also, what's the intended purpose for the car? Agree on moving the panhard, it's not positioned...

    Taurus Fan Wiring Problem

I ordered one of those units quite some time back. I waited almost 2 months with no word from the MFR on the delay (they did not reply to e-mails either). Finally issued a dispute through Paypal and got my money back, but I was not pleased! Needless to say, yes I would have liked to have...

    Taurus Fan Wiring Problem

Thanks Tim65Gt! That's exactly how I want it to function. Sadly I put it all in without benchtesting. Learned my lesson! I'll give it a shot and let you know how it works.

    Taurus Fan Wiring Problem

I've had a Taurus fan in my car for a while now, but just had the low-speed hooked up to a manual switch. In my quest to make this automatic, and add in a manual override for high-speed (also will tie in the A/C to this), I did some searching and came across a wiring diagram that I modified...

    67 Autometer project completed

Markus, thanks! I'm assuming that is the ABS gauge support I've seen listed elsewhere? I plan on reusing as much of the JME stuff as possible, was just wondering how much hacking and slashing I had to do to make it all fit!

    67 Autometer project completed

Have you got an step-by-step photos? I've got a JME cluster, but it's in camera case and I want to swap over to a brushed cluster. JME said I could either buy their aluminum bezel, for $800, or send my gauges back and pay another big fee. Wasn't too excited about either of those prospects...

    05 3v 4.6L conversion

I'm glad to see someone else is considering this!!! From the little research I've done on the electronics side... Ford Motorsport has a computer / harness / wiring kit specifically intended for use in "hotrods" to install their crate 350horse 4.6 3V. The kit comes with the aforementioned...

    new with custom suspension

I'm curious what you've got planned for your 3-link. Are you going to retain the back seat or tie into a cage in the car? Planning on using a sprung upper link or a solid one? Can't speak for drag use, but a sprung upper works wonders on the autocross course. May be a bit noisy for...

    Interior Redecorating

+1 for the Duplicolor stuff. You can use laquer paint for the hard parts, but use the Duplicolor for the vinyl pieces.
