    Pedal Kits

As mentioned, the Bullitt pedal pads are smaller than the existing pads. They are a "slipover" design - you MIGHT be able to trim down your pedals and make them work... but that's "iffy", and could be dangerous if they come off. If you use ANY of the late-model "screw-on" pedal pads, they'll...

Roush So what else do you own/drive?

My driver is a mildly modded Bright Atlantic Blue 01 Focus ZX3 that I bought new - currently at 70k miles & counting. Wife's car is a LOADED 05 Mercury Mariner. 18 y/o daughter drives a 99 ZX2 Escort. The Saleen replaced a 65 Mustang GT350 Clone playtoy that I owned/built over the course of...

Roush Ever Have Your Saleen Called an "American Ricer?"

"Rice" is SO overused... Originally, it was applied to import cars that were all LOOKS, with no "oats" (performance) to back up those looks. It was all about body kits and fart pipes. However, there are imports that DO have the performance to back up the looks - some still refer to THAT as...

Roush New Saleen Owner (2000 s281) Questions

Hey 97-13! I actually test drove YOUR car as well - RUNS really nice! ;) It was at the same dealer (ALL American) that gonen20's 00-68 and my 00-493 came from.:nice: They had a nice black Stage 3 Roush there as well - I just refuse to ever own another black car! I'm actually 5 miles east of...

Roush New Saleen Owner (2000 s281) Questions

Roush New Saleen Owner (2000 s281) Questions

I actually looked long & hard at the car (00-68) you bought. Even test drove it a couple times. Interesting car with lots of options & unique color - I'm sure it's a "1 of 1 built". Bought my car from that same dealer. :nice:

Roush New Saleen Owner (2000 s281) Questions

Congrats on the purchase. I actually bought my Saleen from a dealer in Olathe. I'm about 10 miles straight north of you - just off K7 & I-70 (between Bonner Springs & Basehor). I have the Saleen book if you'd like to just look over a copy before you buy it. BTW, check out...

Roush New Saleen Owner (2000 s281) Questions

Hi, and welcome! Noticed the "KSU" in your name... Are you a Kansan as well? Anyway, the best place for beginning Saleen research is The Saleen Book. Lots of great info by year, as well as a registry listed each car made - including yours, which was a coupe produced with a 3.55 rear gear...

    Roush Saleen Extreme

Actually, they give the partial VIN from the Saleen plate WAY down at the bottom of the ad. The "326" does match the VIN for 2003 Extreme #14, as well as the black top & lightbar. Some people are just "funny" about posting full vin's - on the vintage Mustang boards people get all freaked out...

Roush Guess what car is on ebay again (scam)

Ebay FINALLY removed it after it had been reported as a scam several times. Some people on other boards have gotten so tired of the scams & Ebay's (lack of) quick removal, that they've been taking the auctions and bidding them to ridiculous numbers to scare people off & create more hassle for...

    Fenders

I used repop fenders, valance, headlight buckets, bumpers, door skins, quarter skins, fiberglass hood, etc. All purchased from a local shop. Yes, these are the $99 import fenders. Spent maybe 2 extra hours tweaking them to get the fit "perfect". It wasn't THAT bad...:nono: 2000 x 1312 hi-res...

    Space Saver Spare Tire

The late model Cobra/Bullitt/Mach have a special 17" donut spare to clear the 13" brake package... They usually sell in the $100-$150 range with shipping. :jaw: I had to buy one when I upgraded the Saleen brakes. :nono: For the 65, I sourced a 16" donut from a late-model Lincoln. Fit fine...

    Alignment drift?

I post here as BobV - used to be GT350Clone everywhere, but that screenname got messed up in a server crash, and I just set up a new user instead of trying to work it out.... Here's what's confusing me: Does that mean "new" , or 15k miles?:bang: Toe change can kill a set of tires - I...
