Engine 1973 Mustang 351 2v Cleveland Carb Question

since on the 4 barrel, each venturi is smaller than the venturi size of the two barrel, and the fact that the 4 barrels run on the primaries at light throttle, its actually like running a smaller 2 barrel. even with a mechanical secondary and certainly with a vacuum secondary. so you should get...

Engine 1973 Mustang 351 2v Cleveland Carb Question

that was with 4 barrel Cleveland heads, a restrictor intake and 750 carb at 358". we went with a larger intake and 1000 carb with the 408 using the same heads. the cam was also well over 250* at .050 lift. if your 2v motor is cammed right itll work great with the hwy gear and get decent mpg. the...

    351w Efi Intake In A 67-68

with a Windsor it will have more driveability than the 302, even when not under boost. I just told you the minimum cross section of the intakes. the powerband of the vic jr on the Windsor is going to act like the 302 with the xcellerator because the relationship of cross section to cylinder...

Engine 1973 Mustang 351 2v Cleveland Carb Question

we have been messing with a set of '71 4v heads for 2 seasons now. if the exhaust ports on the 2v are like the 4v they will also like a large header. at 10:1 compression with stock stroke we got the 4v motor to run high 10s on motor in a 3000lb car. this year we built a 408 with 13:1 comp and it...

    351w Efi Intake In A 67-68

with a small cam a 2.1" min cross sectional area (which is what both the 302 and 351 vic jr measure at the head) will reach target port velocity for peak hp at 5400 rpm on a 44 ci cylinder. the larger the cam or the larger the cross section the higher you raise that rpm. it will hold way past...

Engine 1973 Mustang 351 2v Cleveland Carb Question

itll be fine. if its too rich jet it down, its no big deal. a lot of guys prefer the 2v heads for their low to midrange power. the 4v heads are VERY LARGE and a lot of guys can get them to run right. even a 2v Cleveland will run better with a 4 barrel carb and decent intake.

    351w Efi Intake In A 67-68

the vic jr out of the box is very small. so if you are concerned about lack of low end on a Windsor with an unported vic jr, don't be. ill be fine unless you have a pretty large cam in it.

    Newbie Needs Help

put a set of Fel Pro 9333 or 8548 HGs on it with ARP fasteners and call it a day. the block should be fine, but check the decks of the block and the heads with a straight edge before reassembly.

    Tfs Top End... Evolved???

same blower, same cam, same shortblock, same guy did both valve job and bowl blends, and the 'better' head/intake combo only made 16 rwhp more with 2 more lbs of boost! im going to have to disagree with you on relevance. that's a good point, but you don't have to have the special headers with...

    Building A 331 Stroker.......advice

part of the reasons the GM heads have large volume is that the port is longer than a sbf and sbc by about a 1/2". so for a given volume the cross section of an LS head will generally be smaller. that's why we use measured min cross section not estimated cross section from volume when calculating...

    Building A 331 Stroker.......advice

the bigger the port, the less lobe area needed to get to your target air speed at your target piston speed. so with less lobe area comes less overlap and better driveability as a side benefit. I know people use the 205s on big windsors, however I think the cross section of the TFS 205/RHS...

    Tfs Top End... Evolved???

I like TFS heads, but they have to have a decent valvejob, a blend is nice and I think the valvesprings should be setup for the cam in the kit. I also don't know why they don't delete the pushrods because at this point damn near no one has a 302 block that hasn't been cut on. other than that I...

    Tfs Top End... Evolved???

what you are missing about boost is that its not really an equalizer, because for a given cross section and port shape, at some point the port will get turbulent and stop flowing. boost does make airspeed but the smaller cross section is actually more of a problem. and the longer runner makes...

    Tfs Top End... Evolved???

I haven't dyno'd the two combos back to back NA. but years ago two of my buddies had 95 GTs. both had tremecs, 9:1 306s, F cams. both had vortech s trims on them. one had TFS TWs with a decent valvejob and an out of the box track heat intake. this one was making 13-14lbs of boost with a 2.75...

    Tfs Top End... Evolved???

the problem the car had was the 'summit' valvejob and everything was setup 'out of the box' because its 'a proven combo'. mostly because he didn't want to pay the extra labor to actually change things like how the springs were .220 off of coil bind when they should have been at .060-.080 off of...
