    Gears and 1/4mile times

    I went from a 13.93 @ 102 mph at sea-level with the stock 2.73s to a non-corrected 13.88 @ 101.9 with the 4.10s @ 3300ft DA. I haven't corrected that E/T in a while, but I believe it translates to roughly 13.5-13.6 at sea level. I'd say 3 tenths, give or take, with my combo (see sig.)

    Best shifter for a T45

I had a Tri-Ax and I loved it. Adjustable and quiet, unlike my buddy's Pro 5.0, which was pretty noisy. No experience with the MGW, so I can't comment.

    Guess what!....EMISSIONS ISSUES 96 Cobra

Could be a vacuum leak. I had a similar problem when I headswapped my '98. It kept throwing P0171 and P0174 for a period of about 8 months. We tried everything to nail it down. Checked vacuum lines, check MAF, replaced PVC, installed a new dipstick, everything. We read the long term...

    4.30's or 4.10's?

    4.10s it is.

    4.30's or 4.10's?

Define "fun." Is fun eeking every last hundreth of a second of E/T out of the car at the drag strip on the weekends? Or is fun cruising around town, going to meets, and an occasional test and tune? If you see yourself getting competitive with the car on a dedicated track tire, I'd say...

    Tuner or subframes??

If you need one more vote for the SF connectors, this is it. IMO, they should be the 1st mod anyone does. I doubt you'll notice any improved traction, but they may eliminate a few squeaks or rattles that may have developed over the years. Best mod you can do for a rare specimen such as yours.

    Track Tips

If you can, pull the sub out for starters, plus any loose stuff in the car. Stay calm and don't worry about anyone else at the track, just focus on learning. Don't worry about messing up, launching poorly, or running slow E/Ts. Just learn. My first time out I made a 17 second pass, it...

Finally ran her for the first time.

Like Winters said, concentrate on DA, it will help you standardize your runs to use for comparison purposes, despite fluctuations in weather/temp/barometric pressure, etc. Just make more passes, thats how you'll learn what works and what doesn't. I'd suggest lowering your shift points and...

How to beat a PI Stang.

Obviously I can't see the tach, but your shifting seems fine. It doesn't sound like you're winding the engine to to point where it screams past its usefulness either. Its really hard to work on improvements if you don't have hard baseline numbers to work with. Have you ever been to the...

    Parts you regret buying?

Steeda Timing Adjuster: SOTP gains were probably pyschological and I didn't get enough time to thoroughly track test it (weather/density altitude and track condition issues, plus I ended up headswapping shortly thereafter.) I only paid $125 for it back in '02 so it was a worthy investment from...

    Dyno #'s!

Those are solid numbers! Were they SAE adjusted, or standard numbers? My "stock" PI headswap (box stock '01 heads/cams, '02 intake, stock manifolds) put down 248rwhp/306 rwtq Standard on a cool day through cats and flowmaster weld-ins. I bet you'll do at least that well.

    beaten by camaro---nitrous?

Why are you surprised that you got walked by an M6 LS1? Those cars are low 13 second performers from the factory. My brother's stock 99 Z28 made 299rwhp with only a K&N drop-in. Even when my '98 GT was headswapped with 4.10 gears I only had a 1st and 2nd gear advantage over his mildly...

Ever Have Your Best... And Worst Day At The Track?

wow, I've been out of the game for a while... that is an AMAZING E/T for a lightly modded 4.6 on street tires (at least in my opinion.) the car is cammed, but still, 12 second e/t's on street tires!! wow, congrats. broken parts just mean an excuse to upgrade. good to see that the 4.6...

    25 ..50 shot dry ?

i pop in from time to time:) i agree with you, for a first time spray on this engine 75 is plenty. there's always room for an increase later after you've seen how it responded. as always a switch chip to retard the timing during spraying is great peace of mind.

    25 ..50 shot dry ?

whoops, missed the dry part. i'd keep it at 125 or below with a dry shot. make sure that fuel pump is in good shape and start small and work your way up.

    25 ..50 shot dry ?

i know guys who ran 150hp wet shots and their engines (and intakes) survived. some of it is luck, the rest is safety. personally i wouldn't have run more than a 125 shot with a completely stock motor, but i've heard of 150hp shots running with success. here are the two most important words you...

Will cobra brakes fit in my wheels?

yeah, its long gone :nonono: i try to pop in from time to time. soon as i get some disposable income i'll hopefully have another one in the driveway. (hmmm, house or '03 cobra?? )

    Darn Interested Buys....running rich?

What would running rich have to do with a leak? If you've got an exhaust leak at that passenger side gasket you'll hear a tat-tat-tat-tat from the inside of the car as you accelerate. its especially noticeable around 2k rpms while cruising (the infamous drone-zone if you've got flows.) There's...
