How hard is it to find the following

Header's aren't really a problem if you don't change from the stock motor/transmission. The II had a special auto and manual bell. Smaller than the rest of the Ford fleet. The Heddman and Hooker headers fit fine with those stock parts, change from those and you will probably run into issues. Tim

Do I need any parts? 2.3L to 5.0L

One other thing I didn't notice anyone touch on is the rear Diff. The 4 cyl cars usually ( I say "usually" because FORD had at least one exception to every rule) had a 6.75 in integral carrier rear. The v6 usually (that same word again) and V8's had the stronger 8" rear that your donor has. Most...

    C4 Transmission Filter Diagram?

The Spring and "pin" both go under the tab on the filter. The Pin goes in with the flat or "cupped" side first and the spring on top of it, and then the filter to hold it all in place. Tim

    C4 tranmission help!

You CAN NOT use that transmission AS IS. To use that in a car you have to use the Car output shaft & extension housing. To change the shaft the transmission must be dissambled. It might be a great transmission but as it sits it will not work for you in a car.

Early 9" bearing dimensions? Not fitting rear

Do you have the drum brake back plates installed? That would take up some of the space.

    C4 tranmission help!

Your 4x4 poutput shaft to WAY TOO SHORT to use in a standard car application. To Use that transmission It would have to be completely disassembled and have output shaft changed to the "standard" car length and then you could put a "standard" extension housing on it. As sits right now you cannot...

    C4 leak

Excellent! Just be carefull the the little bushing on the end of the support. Sometimes it is a bugger to get to stay as you get everything alse to settle into place. Like I described use a dab of petrolium jelly to hold it. I also usually use a long bolt or two with the heads cut off to hold...

    C4 leak

That bushing is the bushing that the converter rides in. Check the outside of the converter nose to see if it is damaged or not. If that bushing is not in place some of the the output pressure of the pump is hitting the back of that seal and most likely force fluid out as a result. You almost...

    AOD installed!

The transmission arm I used was out of a 87 mustang. The cable and the shifter pieces I used were out of an 84-85 mustang. I'm not sure what the motor and trans of that mustang were as it was already gone. The piece I bolted under the tunnel to the shifter bolts was originally connected to the...

How to remove the center console?

Ahh I've never seen a II with a screw at the front... EVER. the four screws inside the "box", remove the coin tray under the e-brake handle removing the shifter handle is optional (it is easier if you do remove it). once the four screws are out you slide the entire console forward (toward the...

The wires for this connector go though the tunnel right about where the gas pedal is on the inside. if you removed the entire piece the connector I believe is on the inside on some of the year (someone correct me if I am wrong). Good luck, Tim

    75 help

Sorry I thought for some reason that this was a v8 car. Please excuse. With that in mind. have you pulled the valve cover off to check the condition of the cam and followers? It's possible that even a low mileage 2.3 could have eaten some of the lobes down. Not all that uncommon with the...

    75 help

Being as it's not a "Pinto Motor" but a 302 V8 that would be difficult. But thanks... Have you checked the compression in all the cyls? Maybe you have a cyl that is low, stuck rings or valves not sealing good? The advance working correctly? Just tossing out some ideas. Tim
