    Holy cow manure! Why would you pay that much for something fake? I remember in my poor years, I stuck a bolt up through the hood and use the cotter pin hole for the clip.

    Easiest (while still being worthwhile) wax

    I buy liquid spray on carnuba wax from an auto detailer distributor. It's pretty thin stuff and I spray it from a squirt bottle. It's very easy to apply but the down side is that it doesn't last very long in the elements but at $18 for a gallon, I think it's worth it.

    The modular 4.6 is a very wide motor. It will probably need mods to the fuel system like pumps, return lines, etc., not to mention the computer, blah, blah, blah...

    Looking down into the carb, is there equal amounts of gas squirting into the intake through the primary bores of the carb when manually opening the throttle?

    A couple of other things to check: Is the choke stuck in the closed position? Don't laugh, I heard that this happened to someone else. Is the air filter too dirty?

    Check the inside of your radiator cap. If you see that milky stuff there, I wouldn't run it without finding the cause.

    What do you mean by "blew"? Isn't there just one rubber line that fits to a tee and metal lines to each wheel? If the steel line blew, there might be other issues. Others will help as I'm on my way to fishing for a week. Good luck.
