1/4 mile vid of 05 Stang GT

Black Bullit- Cool info. Anyhow, nobody should stress about this. My guess is that 50-70% of the people who say they will buy one aren't going to in the first 6 months or so anyhow. By then, the rest of us will report back and be able to tell them about 1/4 mile runs, wheel and tire...

1/4 mile vid of 05 Stang GT

Then you are a good driver! I have to think that you'd done some hot launches on the street from time-to-time, however (grin). It's all practice. How long did you own the Mach 1 before you drove it on the 1/4 mile strip? The point was well-made by others that this guy wasn't launching...

1/4 mile vid of 05 Stang GT

You guys are pathetic! You base your expected acceleration times off a single video of a single driver doing a single pass? WAIT A SECOND. Isn't this the same place that rags on Car and Driver for posting slow numbers? They make multiple passes and can't get optimal numbers on some cars...

    Mods and 05 GT 3v

The LS6 uses premium fuel! I would hope it could produce more hp/liter

    It's Official!

Right, so get out the dremel, some aluminum plate strips, and start fabricating new connections (grin)

    It's Official!

I'm sure you could order a grille from a V6 and swap it in. I prefer the look with the fog lamps, but if you really want this (and don't need to wait for some shiny "billet" grill), get a V6 grill. It won't be cheap, but Ford will sell them (need to, in order to handle repairs on fender-benders)

    auto or manual fastest?

I think it's hilarious that the 2 arguments defending the quickness of automatic transmissions are that F1 cars don't have manual clutches, and that drag cars use traditional autos with high stall speed torque converters. Neither of those available from the factory in the Mustang. 1) If...

    auto or manual fastest?

Manual = more fun to drive 'nuff said.

    05 exhaust?

Like I said, if it is done for function, GREAT! Heck, don't even paint it, I don't care. But if you remove a 10lb panel and replace it with 15lbs of CF for the looks... well, that's cosmetics. I'd rather have a fat wallet and a lighter vehicle. It's a case of misplaced value, IMHO. CF is...

    05 exhaust?

Stainless is nice because it is functional.... Personally I think I may just spray paint the mufflers flat black. On my old '66 fastback I used to own, I added dual exhaust with drop downs before the axle (too cheap at the time to go all the way back). I had the shop paint the entire...

    05 exhaust?

While a "cool sounding exhaust" is a good thing, how come people are more interested in how it sounds than how it performs? Ever drive a '68-'70 Mopar B-body? The worlds WORST sounding starter, people look at you strange in the parking lot. But you are starting a big block Charger, Road...

who here will have an 05 by the end of the year?

I ~hope~ to have one by the end of the year. Come October, I will turn 40, and the Mustang Fastback turns 40. The wife is going to take my Ford Explorer, we'll sell her Sable, and I get the Mustang. If there are crazy premiums being asked for, and I can't get it near MSRP, I might delay...

    COVER or NO COVER?

Now if those black runners were just coated with a satin aluminum finish.... I'd LOVE the "no covers" look. But it doesn't matter. I'm not going to sit there at the mall with the hood open showing the engine off to a bunch of losers with their baseball caps on sideways and their pants...

    Chrome accent package....

There is no chrome accent package. It's a brushed aluminum package. I'm not trying to pick nits here... there is a HUGE different between aluminum and chrome.

Poll: Age of the mustang buyer

Yeah, I turn 40 in October, which I count as the real 40th anniversary (64-1/2 was just a 65 released early). The 2005 will be my 5th. Why I got rid of my first one ('66 2+2), I will never know. I guess people do stupid things when they are 19. I love the rear seat in the S197, reminds me...

    black 05 on freeway (photos)

Bullit style wheels date to the 60's and 70's. If you have them on an 80's/90's era Mustang, you've "tastelessly" carried them to another generation already. :)

Saw '05 Mustang on the road today... my thoughts!

hotmustang331- They were going for the look of the 69 Mach 1 with those lights. I'm not saying you should like it for that (like what you want, not what others like!), but the fact is that if they didn't make them look like quad lights, they wouldn't get the '69 look. I'm an old fart who...

Engine covers are for fashion freaks. It's a pony car, not a freaking doll house! :)
