    98 clutch

I guess I should clarify now that I've been jumped on. I've had my flywheel resurfaced once and that will be it. I don't think it's wise to do on a stock flywheel but this is simply my opinion. I'd rather have the assurance of a new billet steel flywheel. My point was that machining...

    98 clutch

.01 mm? Well, you're right. If the flywheel is in great shape and simply needs a few atoms taken off of the surface, then fine. You have to think in terms of the kind of hell the flywheel goes through during its life cycle. Constant thrust forces, torsional forces, heat/cooling cycles. All...

    98 clutch

SPEC makes an excellent clutch and they now use Timken bearings which are better than the Federal Mogul bearings Ford uses. I personally would not machine a flywheel because it results in a loss of material integrity. Brake rotors are a different animal all together. I wouldn't want my flywheel...

    Clutch Cable and Quadrant

Well I can say that so far with this particular cable, a few strands at the quadrant end have snapped and the cable shielding on the adjuster side is peeling off.

    New SPEC pressure plate

Just noticed SPEC has a new billet aluminum rebuildable pressure plate for Mustangs. 75% more clamping load (not sure if over stock or Stage 1). Probably will retail for around $200. Much lighter than their lightweight steel pressure plate.

    Clutch Cable and Quadrant

Try to find a factory Ford cable if possible. Aftermarket companies sell Fox cables to 94-95 owners. 96-up cables are longer.

    pro 5.0

Most aftermarket shifters will improve shifting. They have shift stops which keep you from damaging transmission components. Plus, the feel of the shifter is much improved compared to stock. What exactly do you mean by notchy?

Anyone use the Mallory HyFire ignition?

When I buy an ignition I'm going with the HYFIRE IV Multi-Strike CD Ignition. I've heard great things about Mallory products and if you compare the MSD specs to the HYFIRE specs, the Mallory seems to be better.

New Mustang wheel by American Racing!

Sorry, just talked to d.m. and got enthused. Going down Feb 11th to put on my new Cobra fronts. They'll look good with these wheels. Just might buy them while I'm there.

Wheel hop - How to stop this?

I have to say this is one of the most ignorant posts I've ever read. Motor mounts have nothing to do with wheel hop! Absolutely nothing. First of all, how do you know you have wheel hop? Is someone standing on the street watching the back wheels hop up and down? Provide more information so...

Where to find year specific info

I know Chilton manuals combine a lot of models and years together. What publication will show me year specific pictures and diagrams (like electrical wiring) and is it available in cd-rom? Can I get Ford shop manuals? Thanks

    Rigged up a breather system.

I'm just curious. Wouldn't oil be sucked out of the filler neck and into the power pipe? It seems to me that as the s.c. pulls air through the p.p., a vacuum is produced in the tubing connected to the filler neck. Also, if someone was running a breather on the filler neck, unmetered air would...

    Ever had this problem?

Someone? Surely somebody has had this problem or knows the mechanics behind it.

    Ever had this problem?

This has been an ongoing problem now for quite some time. The car runs great but almost everytime I am pulling into a parking spot (low idle, braking to a stop), the idle drops below 500 for a second and of course the voltmeter takes a dive as well. I'm wondering if, since the brakes are...

Size of terminal on starter relay/solenoid

Does anyone know what size the (+) terminal (charge wire from alternator attaches here) is....1/4"? Also, is that referred to as the starter relay or starter solenoid. I need to read up on it but I thought 87-93 starters have a solenoid attached to them. Thanks

anyones car whistle without a blower or turbo?

Yup, mine has the whistling sound too. I notice it more when a friend is driving and I have the window down while riding in the passenger side.
