Again, "essential" by whose criteria?? For Ford it's absolutely essential. For the person that wants more out of the performance of their engine and doesn't care how loud it is, no.

Says who? Maybe for us consumers there is no need for it, but Ford must pass some rigorous test criteria, many of which have nothing to do with performance. The snorkel you find on these cars is a result of that. It all depends on which perspective you have. ;)

    Bore out TB?

Basically, in stock form, the cross-sectional area of the shaft is "shadowed" by the blade because the blade is at an angle of approx. 2* to the flow. If it were perfectly parallel, we'd be having a totally different conversation where I'd be agreeing with you 100%. However, that blade can...

    Bore out TB?

We're just cautioning against potential catastrophic consequences. Whether you chose to believe the facts or not is your prerogative. That doesn't change the fact that it is what it is. Oh, and making the shaft bigger is not a fair argument. Of course it will impede flow is it's larger...

    Bore out TB?

God, I hope you used thread locker when you put the screws back in!! If you noticed, the stockers are hollow at the tips and are squeezed flat (or close to it). This keeps them from backing out. BTW, your t/b blade doesn't open to 90* (or flat). It opens to approx. 88*. The shaft doesn't...

    Roush Super charger

Gotcha. Nevermind all that crap I posted then, LOL! Sidenote: We (in the Roush Engineering community) don't consider that particular unit a "Roush" supercharger, even though they are branded that way. It's designed and manufactured by some third party. The newer kits ('01+) are designed...

    Roush Super charger

Where exactly did he quote that link??? And BTW, Roush didn't supercharge the Stage 3 (direct from Roush) until 2001. "The debut of Roush Performance Products was officially made at the 1995 SEMA show, and it consisted of an intake manifold and tool kit. A year later, the first Roush Mustang...

Leave it. If it wasn't necessary and essential, Ford would never have put it there.

    Roush Super charger

Not if it's a Stage 3 it's not. I'll bet my next paycheck on it (the one that Roush makes out to me).

Rear Seat Delete owners please read

Well, theoretically yes. ~40 lbs should net you close to .05 in the 1/4. However, the weight you're removing is basically right over the wheels (or close enough for my point). This could lead to the rear tires unloading prematurely, or let them spin longer. As long as you can hook up, you...

    Roush Super charger

Hey, no prob. No flame intended, just setting the record straight. I know there is misinfo printed in some mags, and this could be the case here. I'm not doubting what you read. ;)

    Roush Super charger

uh...no. The Roush Stage 3 is a 4.6L. Always has been. The later SN95 models had 380 hp. The same exact blower is on the 3V stage 3, which nets 415 hp. If you plan on fitting the Roush (Eaton M90) s/c on a '96, you should plan on lowering your compression should you decide to go with PI...

DAMN! That is a excellent suggestion!!

    Where are my spark plugs?

This is GREAT advice!! Too many people are hung up on copper and that jazz. If it's better for power and efficiency, Ford already put it in there. Simply stated, the OEM plugs are the best plugs for your car.... unless you're running a p/a.

    Oil Change Question

Look at a '99 or '00, or anything older for that matter. 710 cap "says" 5w30. I've already outlined why the newer ones use 5w20. Whether or not you believe me is your prerogative.

How to tell if crank position sensor is bad??

If your crankshaft position sensor was bad, your car wouldn't run. The problem is probably between the PCM and tach. It is curious that humidity seems to affect it. I wouldn't know where to begin. Electrical gremlins suck! BTW, nice avatar!

    Oil Change Question

10w30 and 5w30 are the same weight at operating temp. In the summer, you'd be fine with 10w30. In the winter, you'd be better off staying away from 10w30. 5w20 is basically what amounts to a thin veil that has been pulled over the eyes of the public. Ford claims better gas mileage, but...

    Water Pump Pulley

I believe you can purchase the pullies individually. I know Steeda sells the damper seperately. IIRC, the Bullitt has an underdrive waterpump pulley from the factory.
