Which hits harder/better, two 10's or one 12?

If you want to get the amp, I'd recommend going through sounddomain.com. Just contact them about price matching ikesound's price. They price match their stuff and they're an authorized JBL dealer, so they carry JBL's warranty, unlike ikesound. Ikesound's not bad to go through, they just don't...

Which hits harder/better, two 10's or one 12?

Sorry, been busy last couple of days. That amp should be fine for the subs. If it's not loud enough, you could always port it. If you're running a basically stock system except for the subs, it'll definetly be loud enough for you.

question bout mach 460 system in 96 gt

It'll work, you'll just need to bypass the amp, or run new wire to the speakers.

question bout mach 460 system in 96 gt

It's not as easy as that, unfortunately. The front mids in the door are run off a seperate amp as the tweeters, so if you just wired them up using the factory wiring, they'd be lowpassed from the factory amp. If you still have the factory head unit, I'd keep the speakers until you upgrade to...

infinity reference subs and MTX boxes

You might notice a little increase in bass if you reverse the phase of one sub. It really depends on the car, though. You also might get a tremendous amount of cancellation. Just experiment. It only takes a minute to switch a couple of wires, and it shouldn't take long at all to notice a...

infinity reference subs and MTX boxes

I'd go with the MDF. Particle board isn't the best stuff to use for sub boxes, especially if it gets wet. How much are you spending for the subs? I'd personally go with the Kappas. If you're going with a sealed box, they are really easy to do yourself. For materials, it's only like $30, if...

Which hits harder/better, two 10's or one 12?

If you're going to run a lot of power to them, the bigger the box, the less the power handling of the sub. They perform well in the recommended size enclosure. For the ported size for the type-R, I think it's around 1.5-1.75 cu. ft. tuned to around 35 or 40Hz. Might be a lower tuning freq...

    Qlogic logical?

The Qlogic panels aren't really worth the money. They're pretty flimsy and if you spend some time and experiment, you can build your own fiberglass kicks with much better imaging than the Qlogic's. If you have a 5-speed, it'll be a tight squeeze with the clutch, but you'd get used to it.

    whats wrong with my amp!?

Try switching the RCA's that you use from 1&2 to 3&4. If it works fine, your amp isn't the problem. Then try switching them at the HU. It could be a problem with your preout, but it's probably the RCA grounding out. Try that and see what happens.

Which hits harder/better, two 10's or one 12?

I totally forgot, if you want another suggestion on a sub, these are the subs I plan on getting: http://www.woofersetc.com/product.asp?0=416&1=421&3=2185 They'll take 600 watts easy. I'm installing one 12" in my friend's s10 when he gets his amp. I was actually going to run the type-r's before...

Which hits harder/better, two 10's or one 12?

I can't remember off the top of my head for the ported, but I think about 1 cu. ft. or a little more like 1.2 sealed would work. I'll try to find the ported size and tuning freq. on my other computer. If you ran 600 watts to each in a sealed, it'll be more than enough bass for what type of...

    Tail Lamp Screws

Thanks for the reply. I'll probably have to go that route. I can't find them anywhere, so I might as well. Did you just get a threaded shaft and cut it to length?

Which hits harder/better, two 10's or one 12?

For the ssf, It depends what frequency your box is tuned at. Below the tuning freq., the sub unloads. If it's tuned pretty low, it's not as big a deal, but if it's tuned at say 40Hz or so, you risk damaging the driver if you play test tones through it. As for the amp, the JBL's usually are...

    Tail Lamp Screws

A couple of my tail lamp screws have the threads stripped a little and I can't find them anywhere. I went to the dealer and they said they don't carry them anymore, they only service the entire unit. I checked junkyards and every single mustang they had didn't have the rear taillights. Does...

    94-96 stang trunk rattel?

You'll probably get some rattles from the license plate, spoiler(if you have one), maybe the taillights, and the rear bumper. The L7's are pretty powerful subs, and it might be too much for the trunk without deadener.

    Mach 1000 questions

You'd be better off just buying aftermarket equipment. I think the Mach 1000 sub amps are only rated at about 100 watts RMS or so anyway. I don't know what the crossover points on the Mach amps are, either.

Which hits harder/better, two 10's or one 12?

If you want to keep your subs, you could get a JBL 600.1: http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/186 wire the subs in parallel for a 2ohm load on the amp and give each sub 300 watts. It's a solid amp, and if you want to upgrade the subs later, you still could get a couple of type-r's...

Which hits harder/better, two 10's or one 12?

If the driver's made for one, usually a ported enclosure will hit lower than a sealed =, if made properly. You can get great SQ out of a ported box, but sometimes it can get a little boomy. You also get higher SPL ported. This is very driver dependant, though. The Alpines can handle much...
