    32 valve heads

why not just buy a 32v DOHC mod motor? it'd be cheaper and its better with the over head cams. i don't like the 1 lifter/pushrod operating 2 valves seems kind of wrong.

    71/72 Mach 1 bumper question

i think the 71 had the full chrome bumper and in 72 the urethane bumper was introduced due to tougher safety standards. 73 has the same bumper but the turn signals are vertical i think and the 72's are horizontal. might be the otherway around i can't remember. but i know its only a slight...

    remote door/trunk locks

i did. used the vpa kit from summitracing. the 15lb solenoids are good for the mustangs. the kit from VPA is really good and reasonably priced. i didn't get all the fancy stuff just two remotes, reciever, solenoids and wiring and cableing. i added the trunk solenoid for 20 bucks and it came...

What is the best for performance out of 3,4,5 or 6 speed?

what kind of performance are you looking for? the C4 (auto) has been proven to be quite effective in a drag racing/ street car especially in bracket racing where consistency is important. its tough to beat the T5 for all out driving fun. if properly built it can handle over 600hp, and has an...

victor rienz those are the gaskets im running. no problems yet. boy .060 os alot to be asking of a 289. is it a hipo? you really shouldn't be blowing head gaskets that easily. definately replace the bolts. they are only good enough to be reused a couple times. i would definately check...

    Don't know what to do.

accidents happen if they could be prevented they would be called something else. i've been in plenty of them some my fault most were not. i remember one time when i was young and stupid i was driving too fast around an icy corner and wound up launching my 65 onto a 3ft snow bank where it...

    Thinking about AFR185's or 165's

will i have to flycut the pistons even with the low lift cam? the real problem i have with the 347 build is that i will have to beef up the rest of the drivetrain to handle the additional power. i didn't think it was too bad either but then the new mustangs with the DOHC engine's were putting...

    Thinking about AFR185's or 165's

well i went to the dyno shop earlier this year and was surprised to see that my 65 only put down 213hp and 268trq to the rear wheels. desktop dyno sugested 320 at the flywheel, working backwards from my dyno numbers im at about 284hp flywheel with a 25% drivetrain loss. (its a C4 and 8") i...

    suspension noise

clunking it is a dull clunk that i can feel through the floors and not so much the steering wheel. i have a 1" swaybar with poly bushings. there is no evidence to support that it is rubbing against the strutrods. i heard this happens sometimes. maybe its time to throw more money at it until...

    suspension noise

recently i have noticed a strange noise which i believe is some part of the suspension binding. i have new ball joints on factory UCA's and factory LCA's. i installed urethane bushings in the LCA's but that changed nothing. i think it could be the spring perch, which is new..er with poly...

    Plastic Intake Durability

as far as i know if i remember correctly, supposedly ford corrected the problem in 98. only 96 and early 97 plastic manifolds are covered by the recall and it is 7 years or 70k miles, then you on your own. i had a 97 that popped while still under warranty. it was quite a surprise. i believe...

please explain to me the big deal about a six cylinder to larger engine swap?

uh oh the torch is used to heat stubborn rusty nuts and bolts. apply heat to the nut and the metal expands creating less effort to remove said bolt, also helps prevent broken studs like on wheels and exhaust manifolds. it took about three years because of all the body and interior...

Anyone here with road demon experience

correction just wanted to correct myself. if the VS are opeing too soon the air door will open and fuel won't come into the engine until the engine speed catches up to the available throttle area and creates a strong enough signal. direct from "how to tune your demon and win!" so you would...

Anyone here with road demon experience

tuning the demon i bought my demon when it first came out and i must say it is by far the best carb i have ever used. to determine what is causing yor bog, or hesitation, first you must determine at what rpm you are experiencing this problem. i purchsed a book titled "how to tune your demon...
