Foxbody seats in a 60's Mustang?

I was also wondering how Fostang got the rear seat in. If I replaced the fronts, I'd want the rear to match. How much hacking is involved? Did you have to cut out the center to narrow it?

Newbie needs advice about Heidts vs Speed Direct (steeroids)

Well said, Liam. I can't think of anything further to add. And yes, SN95's project is just disgusting in the most flattering sense of the word. I'd love to do something like that, but realistically the most freaky I'd probably ever get is stroking my 289 to a 331 with a Paxton...

Newbie needs advice about Heidts vs Speed Direct (steeroids)

So long as you're hijacking your own thread, Liam.... I say the same thing to my wife about most modern cars: they are icons of a complacent society; they're all about cheesy, monochromatic plastic, and unimaginative cookie-cutter lines. Most of them are about as fascinating as a toaster on...

Foxbody seats in a 60's Mustang?

thanks for posting the link, S-code. However, that look is much too "edgy" for my liking. I really like the Corbeus, Flofits, and REcaros, but I don't think they would match (aesthetically) the look I'm going for in my 67. I'm resto-modding the car (oops, I hope Mustangs Plus doesn't nail...

Newbie needs advice about Heidts vs Speed Direct (steeroids)

    I actually laughed out loud because since I got this 67, the logical half of my brain has been incredulous that I've sunk so much time, $, and yes, blood (I've actually had to scrub my own blood off the car so that it didn't rust the metal...) on a vehicle that will...

time for new springs and new stance

:nice: good advice. I cut mine off in increments, reinstalled, drove around for a few days, then cut some more. in TOTAL I removed 3/4 coil on each. another word of advice: get a grinder or some sort of cut-off machine; I did mine with a hacksaw :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

Newbie needs advice about Heidts vs Speed Direct (steeroids)

hijack on. Tao, I'm in Miami and although I try to do all of my own work on my car, I wouldn't mind knowing of a shop in the area which can competently handle a classic Mustang...just in case I run into something I don't know how to/don't want to do. thanks. hijack off. (er, no pun...

Foxbody seats in a 60's Mustang?

Bullit & Mach 1 seats do have sort of a retro look. Good luck finding them, though.

time for new springs and new stance

I have 620's up front, and it still wasn't low enough so I cut 3/4 coil off. I have a 289 in mine; if you have a heavier engine that might make a difference.

Foxbody seats in a 60's Mustang?

I've looked at the SN95, and IMO they are a bit overstuffed. Also, the curvy lines of the SN95 don't appeal to me aesthetically as a match to my 67 interior. I think that Fox seats (the deluxe ones with pull-out leg support) would be a perfect match, especially when re-upholstered in real...

    Winter and rust

I don't know a lot about paint, but if it takes longer to dry, wouldn't that result in a better cure? So long as you keep it free from dust particles and other floaty ***** which might get into the paint while it's drying, a longer cure might result in a better, more durable paintjob...

well, until you are banned, why don't you linger and keep sharing your wisdom...and cease the bull***** between you and Pak by ignoring it.

Foxbody seats in a 60's Mustang?

thanks for the link to that article. however, do you think it would really be necessary to do the floorpan modification?? I'm 6'2" and 195-ish, and I don't feel cramped in my 67. However, I have the seat all the way back and it's just about perfect because I don't like to drive with my...

Foxbody seats in a 60's Mustang?

Sorry, I wasn't laughing at your dirty seats. I was talking to the other poster, Latamud, who said he tossed his original seats off a cliff. He lives in Hawaii, where there are really deep ravines that are so steep and choked with vegetation that you could lose a city bus in them. I was...

    Convert mechanical speedo to electronic?

Okay, that's the one I'd have to use for my C4. According to Autometer, it's called the "Hall Effect Sender." I downloaded a diagram for Autometer's site, and it looks like the 5292 sending unit screws into the transmission at the point where the speedo cable would go, then it has to be...
