Switch to a carb. About how much to gain or loose?

Yea, the deck height on the 351 i higher. And on the cleveland its totally different. I have another 1990 5.0 i can throw this engine in. So its still money in the bank in my opinion. :D This setup is going to be on this engine for about 2 years, so its worth the money right now. When i pull...

Well, like i said... #1.) I prefer carb. I have two carb'd cars in my family and i like them. #2.) I have fuel consumption issues because my foot in in the throttle all the time, i have no illlusions as to why i get ****ty gas mileage. #3.) Im trying to clean my engine bay up, and fuel...

Switch to a carb. About how much to gain or loose?

I've decided on a Holley blue pump, im trying to remember here, but i think it goes for about $100ish, give or take a few bucks. I was going with a brand new carb. I think a 650 demon from Jeg's is about $399 or so. Not to bad. The intake i want is a Torker II, i was going to gasket match...

393 STROKER KIT. WHAT TO LOOK FOR

IN short, a Zo6 is a monster, and if you want to beat it, you'd better build a better monster. Heres a breif description of what i would do if i had the money... Dart 351 block. Stroked to 427ci with all forged internals. Novi 2000RR. Custom Cam. Yates Heads (damn things flow 368cfm @...

393 STROKER KIT. WHAT TO LOOK FOR

For that 400-450hp...a cast crank is more than enough. Just spend that money you save off of the forged...like $450 that you will save, and buy you something worth the money, like a set of stock length Eagle H-beam rods with ARP studs. You want peace of mind, use all ARP hardware and stud...

What else could cause a vibration???

jack your car up and check where the drive shaft bolts directly to the rear end. Replace the driveshaft bolts. They may be backing out or not tightening all the way. I had the same problem over the summer, changed a couple parts and the vibration was still there. Turned out my bolts wern't going...

    393 stroker......

Yea, just grab your 302 pistons out of a 5.0. Correct me if im wrong, im still a little un-clear on the years. Buti think forged pistons came stock from 1987-lete year 1992 then they changed over to hypereutectic pistons. Theres a difference, a hyper. piston is cast, but its better than regular...

    How much power/mileage difference

Hmm, i wouldn't use a edelbroke carb. Go with a 600 Demon, they're the cadillacs of carbs in my opinion. easy, easy, easy to tune.

    393 stroker......

Oops, thanks for catching that. Didn't realise i put that in there.... Last night i had been on a Chevy board talking about 383 strokers, i get all this stuff jumbled in my head and it mixes me up....you can use stock 350 pistons in a Chevy 383....so thats why i got my words mixed up. Yea...

    How much maximum cylinder pressure?

Well on the street, with premium 93, about the max compression is going to be 10.0:1 or 10.1:1ish.....Unleaded will be lower at about 9.2:1ish...not exactly sure, but thats what i've heard from around the campfire.

    393 stroker......

Cast crank is fine, the block will give out before you ever break a crank. You can use 351 or 302 pistons , if you already got the 302's use em. I would dafinatly use forged pistons though.

Just talked to SUMMIT. Need cam help

i agree with JerryD, there are better cams. If you have stock, non ported heads. Just wait for the cam, get some heads, switch over to carb like it says in your sig, get some headers, etc. Then go and get Ed curtis to grind you a custom cam matched to your combo.

    MSD Help Please

Take one of your plug wires and just temporarily use it for a coil wire and see what happens....Hell its worth a shot... Double check a diagram and make sure you got your wires attached to the right sides of the coil, may seem basic, but its happend to me before. I replaced an entire fuel pump...
