    The previous owner of my car had some interior parts "chromed" zinc yellow. The dealer had painted over it with really crappy spray paint and it's starting to chip off. I tried polishing it with some high-grit polish but it didn't do anything. I was wondering if it'd be safe to use paint...

    Heck yeah, thanks for the help :nice: Nah, it's worth the $5 to get a can of contact cleaner for electronic stuff. My brake cleaner leaves a small film on stuff I shoot with it. So I reserve it for cleaning off everything non-electronic. Including my hands :D

    Well I let it sit for about 2 hours with the battery connected while I took the 89 out to dinner with the fam to clear the ECU. Came back with some contact cleaner and sprayed a crapload of it into the MAF element. That worked alot better than alcohol did :nice: Reconnected the battery and...

    Ran it around the block open loop, came back, cleaned the element again. It idles now but VERY roughly. Will resetting the PCM reset it, or should it automatically reset itself when cleaned?

    Interesting, unplug the MAF starts up and runs fine. What I think I'll do is run it open loop around the block a few times to blow the oil out, bring it back, clean the element, reset the PCM and try it then.

    My MAF wires have some sort of weird housing around them that it's hard to get the Q-tip around. I cleaned it as best as I could so here goes :)

    I just did an oil change on the GT today and re-oiled the air filter. I put everything back together and now it'll crank over run for a half second and then die. If you keep pumping the throttle it'll kick up to 3500-4500 like normal so I'm not quite sure what it is... It's not throwing a code...
