    I’d have to agree about them maybe looking odd on a smooth factory hood. Been wanting some myself but that is the reason I haven’t gotten any. Still looking for pics of them on a smooth hood... but I don’t think they are rice at all. Had two sets on an old maverick grabber back in the day...

    So they are the ford gears and making a roaring sound... they shouldn't make noise from the get go if installed correctly. I think (don't know this for sure) this is a part of the problem with Motive gears. If the mechanic installs the ring and pinion like any other ford gear the tolorences...

    Just pulled the car in for a quick measurement. Measured like you did from the bottom lip of the rim up... Front Driver side - 23 1/2" Front Passenger side - 23 1/2" Rear Driver side - 24" Rear Passenger side - 24" Also measured from the wheel center up... Front Driver side - 14 1/2"...

    I don't know... hate to say I've been lucky... but I've been running Motive gears in the last several mustangs I've owned and never had an issue with whine. Last two sets in two different stangs the install was by the same mechanic so maybe that is why and they were all 3.90's not 4.10's :shrug:

    I guess it sounds like wheel hop all of the time... it’s just occasionally actually happens more on the street those late night stop lights. It happens sometime cleaning the tires off and sometime during the launch. Most of the time it’s a nice smooth short burn out and just a good hard...
