    Coil Spring Insulators

    I put new insulators in mine when I put 620's in. They go on the springs first...you just have to squeeze/twist and kick the neighbors cat a couple of times before you find the best method to put them on the spring. If you want them to squeak mercifully, leave them off. Jim

    It means 1", just as much as a dropped coil means 1" - 1 1/4" drop...it's as close to that as it can be. Jim

    Crack in rear seat area

    Welding back up should solve your problem. One thing you should do first is drill a small hole at each end of the crack prior to welding. Doing this will stop the crack from picking up where it left off if your welds possibly fail. Be sure to weld the holes you drilled as well. Jim

    How did you get started working on cars?

    For me it was when dad took me to the shop where he worked on (back then they weren't called sprint cars) super-modified dirt cars. Got bit buy the bug and it hasn't let go. Now I'm building a '65 fastback and soon to be building my son a '63 volkswagen beetle. I've got a cool kid!!
