    Code Questions

The other end is probably connected to the HVAC control. Do you get hot and/or cold air from the vents?

    Code Questions

Might be. Where does it go at the other end of the tubing? Looks like it's been capped off.

Can I Start My Car Without The Transmission In It?

Mine has sat for about 7 months every winter for the past 14 years, albeit in a heated garage. Starting it and not running it long enough to boil off any condensation is a much greater worry.

    Code Questions

Look for any breaks in the vacuum system and air being drawn into the exhaust system before the O2 sensors. Check the fan operation at the fan motor pigtail by supplying power directly from the battery positive terminal. There are three pins, high and low fan and a ground. If that checks okay...

Steering Rack Replacement In Driveway. No Biggie?

I don't think so. Mercon ATF probably meets the Ford spec.

Steering Rack Replacement In Driveway. No Biggie?

Not according to the owner's manual. It calls for Power Steering Fluid meeting spec ESW-M2C33-F

Electrical Lost A Cell In Battery ??

Hidden (under the sheathing) corrosion on the high current cables is very common. Because it is hidden it is often overlooked as the source of many electrical issues. The positive and negative battery terminals are of a different size. You are better of (cost wise) to make your own power and...

    Engine Surge After Shifting

Probably caused by the engine load quickly falling off as you put it into neutral. I'm assuming it's just a quick rise then a slower decent back to the normal idle rpm.

    Engine Surge After Shifting

Manual transmission? But why would you engage in a dangerous practice?

Idle Drops And Recovers. Especially In Reverse.

Sounds normal to me. There is bound to be a slight change in rpms as load is applied. The IAC valve is what makes the air adjustment for the load change. You probably see the same thing happening as the A/C cycles.

    SN95 Electric Fan Settings

I'm using a 180* T-stat. The T-stat only determines when the water will flow through the rad. In that sense it establishes a minimum engine operating temperature.

    SN95 Electric Fan Settings

Low on at 220*F (Ford Manual) other sources 208*F. Once triggered it will stay on until the temp drops to 200*F. High on at 230*, whenever the A/C is on and at speeds below 47 mph. Mine is set for low on at 180* and high on at 205* and with the A/C on at any temperature.

    Surge/hesitation After Plugs

Without going back through all the posts, has the FPR been checked? You made somewhere a reference to the psi @ 80-90. The only way for that to happen is if the return line is plugged or the FPR isn't releasing the excess fuel back into the return line. Is the vacuum line to the FPR connected...

    High Idle When Hot

Pumping the gas pedal does a couple of things. Firstly, you move the TPS outside the expected idle start range. Secondly, if the TPS signal is WOT while cranking the ECU shuts off the injectors, as this is a "clear flood" signal. The engine should start without touching the gas pedal...

    High Idle When Hot

You would be surprised how many try to pull codes from the under dash port then say they have no codes or say the coolant temperature is 200* because the dash gauge it pointing to the R. You have the particulars, so unless you tell your audience what you have, they are at best wild guesses. How...

    High Idle When Hot

I guess you need to define "highly modified" as it relates to the engine. There are limits to which the stock ECU can adjust for. No codes, not even the 111 pass? At what temperature do you see the rad fan coming if at all. Depending on the reference source the low fan comes on between 208 and...

Injectors And Tune. (it's Not The Dead Horse Y'all Are Thinking If)

Are you thinking "bigger" is better? Stock are 19# what do you want to install and why? The ECU may be able to manage 24# without a tune to get to a tuner. Larger will most like require the car to be trailer-ed to the tuner.

Brake Pedal Travels Far But Then Works Good

Since the car is new to you there are a couple of possibilities. Brake fluid may be low and if the brake booster was changed the the pushrod may not have been adjusted properly. The fluid should be no more than about 1/4" below the top of the master cylinder reservoir. Adjusting the pushrod will...

    High Idle When Hot

Are we to assume it's the stock ECU or has a tuning chip been installed? Have you pulled the DTCs (trouble codes and what are they)? Are you reading the actual temperature from an aftermarket gauge (195*F seems pretty specific)? And how high is high?
