    OK, looks like I need some tips on manual tranny shifting

    I find that my car is MUCH easier to ease off the line if I pre-rev it and then let the clutch out as the rpms fall... Try adjusting where the clutch catches till you find a place you like better then practice.... 3.73 gears helped me out big time too... Oh and just cruising I usually...

    Well I do know how much bearing preload should be on them and I put it to the low end of spec before taking it for a drive. I only drove about a mile so it'll be parked till I can put some more in. Unfortuantely since it was really loose to begin with i was not able to measure then re-set...

    I have a D40. I only use it as a regular camera though but the pics are awesome... We bought it to use as a point and shot that is fast enough to capture kids when you want to... :-)

    Well the R&R for the seal went fine.... But once the pinion nut was re-snugged (it was loose but had already been tightened 2 times) the pinion did not rotate at all. So I pulled it all back apart (from the front) and changed the crush collar, re-ovalized the pinion nut and put it all back...

    Thanks guys. The gears were installed bad 70k miles ago so at this point I am not too worried about the gears more jsut trying to keep the fluid in the diff and of my garage floor for another 10k miles. :D
