White Smoke out the Tailpipe!!! Frustration Level High!

Sounds like your burning coolant. That 14 lb-ft torque spec your engine builder told you to torque it down is too low for a lower intake. Stock final spec is 23-25 lb-ft with stock heads. Guys with aluminum heads are around 20 lb-ft for the lower final torque spec,or whatever the head...

    EPW rockers? Pics inside

Never heard of them and a google search turns up next to nothing. Who makes them and where are they made? I wouldn`t jump on these until finding out more info.

Felpro 1250 Intake Gaskets Are Trash!!

The proper order was followed and gone over numerous times until they all tightened down evenly in 4 stages.(10,15,20,25lb-ft) I took more care to install them than most people probably do,and these pos gaskets still start leaking again over time. I think they must compress/shrink too...

Felpro 1250 Intake Gaskets Are Trash!!

No.Stock heads and intake. The lower never leaked prior to installing 1250`s. Even used Hylomar gasket sealer around the ports and used guide pins to set it down. Tightened it down evenly in 4 steps going over the bolts again and again in each stage until they all tightened down evenly...

Felpro 1250 Intake Gaskets Are Trash!!

1250`s suck.:notnice: I`ve retorqued the lower 4 times already to stop coolant seepage at the front. Other`s have had to retorque numerous times as well. Might try Mr.Gasket ultra seal 2`s next time unless there`s something better.

installing a upper and lower intake

Yes,when tightened down it will still move/wobble a bit,if you try to move it by hand. Probably some type of flexable rubber bushing in there.

installing a upper and lower intake

The lower nut is designed to turn in the upper part. There will be some movement. Put some liquid pipe thread sealer on the threads and don`t overtighten. You would not want to crack the intake.

installing a upper and lower intake

I have the Ford 1989 Mustang car shop manual and they even recommend using guide pins. There`s even a small black and white drawing showing them installed in the 4 corners of the heads.

installing a upper and lower intake

Buy 4...5/16 X 3" long bolts and cut off the heads and use them as guide pins when you install the lower. Lines up right the first time.

    are roller rockers loud?

My Crane 1.7`s are quieter than the stock junk I took off. I set the preload properly. Don`t just bolt them down and go without checking and setting the correct preload like some idiots recommend.:nono:

    Im so happy

More than a few have been broken and they don`t give any "signs",they just break off with the shifter knob in your hand. It takes a lot of force to break it,but some guys shift like animals. Steel handle ftw.

    Im so happy

I have a Tri-Ax with a Kona Racing billet steel handle. It`s a quality piece. Just didn`t trust that :bs: aluminum handle the Tri-Ax comes with after reading posts about them breaking. Steeda now offers their own steel handle which they should have made in the first place instead of aluminum!

    e7's a upgrade?

I thought you were talking about gaining HP. If those E7`s have been rebuilt and are in good shape, for $50.00 it`s probably worth it. Just make sure they`re in good shape though.
