1995 Mustang GTS just traded in, @ my dealership

There's a lot of info about this under search, but I can tell you for sure they bumper cover says Mustang GT on mine. Also, any option that could be ordered for the V6 car could be ordered for the GTS, I think. The VIN and door sticker don't tell you, from what I recall. Scott

    95 3.8 Overheating - Clogged Radiator? Fan?

Sounds like the same problems my mom's 3.8 Thunderbird had. Head gaskets kept taking a dump, apparently a pretty common problem for that engine, since it shares the 302 / 5.0 headbolt pattern and style. Her car would put out no heat, constantly lose coolant, and smell like antifreeze all the...

Need help installing the rear control arm

One other suggestion is to use a large ratchet strap hooked to the front end of the chassis somewhere, that will allow you to control the amount you pull the axle forward and hold it while you work. Scott

    Need Help Diagnosing Wailing

FYI, I talked to my cousin last night. He said that he tried two different PCV valves, and finally just put a breather in that and capped the hose from the valve cover. He said that it only made the noise when it got warmed up, and he just yanked the valve up out of the grommet and it stopped...

    Need Help Diagnosing Wailing

My cousin had an issue similar to this. He pulled his engine apart to re-ring it. As soon as he started it, it made the most god-awful dry bearing sound you can imagine. It got louder with rpm, only seemed to stop when he would hammer it, or rev it up in neutral. We tried the same thing...

    Do I need a new engine/rebuild?

+1 Something I always do is open the box and use my pocket knife or a pen to check whether the pressure bypass valve is made of metal or plastic coated cardboard. Learned to do this when I had a 7.3 Powerstroke and been doing it since. I recall that Motorcraft, Purolator, and believe it or...

    UMI suspension???

Well, I didn't get the parts in time to go racing. They accidentally shipped me motor mounts for a G-Body. lol But, I called and left a message for Brad, and they had the right parts pulled and shipped the next day. He apologized for the mistake, and left me with a good feeling about their...

    UMI suspension???

My cousin and I installed these on his 94 about 4 years ago, and he's been very happy with them, I believe his best pass to date is somewhere in the upper 11s. I just ordered a rebuild kit for my Southside bars from them, and the guy I talked to was very helpful and thankful for my order...

    no oil pressure!

The pump driveshaft should stay in the block, it should have a little spring washer around it that traps it between the block and the oil pump. I'd suggest removing the oil sender, then get an aftermarket gauge and hook it up where you can see it at least for start up. If you don't see any...

    Stupid question, thinking out loud

The way to figure displacement is to use this formula: Bore*bore*stroke*.7854*number of cylinders so, 4.03*4.03*4*.7854*8 = 408 to get a 413 with a 4" stroke, you'd need a 4.053 bore. Scott

Build Thread Jamee's Build Up Thread

:stupid: Plus, you have to remember that you started with something that didn't run and was NOt special in any way. Unless you over-paid for it in the first place, you won't have to worry about resale values much. My opinion anyway. Looking good on the progress pics, btw!! Scott

How To Delete The A/C System ***PICS***

Dammit!!! :bs: Beat me to it. lol Good write up, but I'm with Kurt on this one. If I could find that manifold line set off the back of the compressor, I'd have mine working ASAP! Can't drive it to work and pick up the kiddos (4 & 1-1/2) in the hot, humid summer with no air. :( Again...

    95Bluestallion's head swap pic thread

I'm gonna guess around 255-265. The stock cam isn't so bad, but I'd love to swap it out myself.

    Not Good

The only thing I can think of that might cause that heavy wear on the thrust bearing would be some severe engine braking... not something gas engines are known for. Even high milage, abused engines haven't looked like that. How thin are the sides of the thrust bearing? If it's wiped out, it...

    Vacuum leak = good idle?

Is your idle air bypass valve working? I think that's what it does, create a regulated vacuum leak.

    Brake help please?!

Partially crushed or plugged up from rusting inside the line, those would both cause that. Years ago, my dad's 57 Chevy would about break your arm pulling to the right (drum brakes, manual steering). The rubber line had deteriorated internally on the driver side, and it wasn't getting any...

Is 55psi too much for fuel pressure???

If you're holding it to the floor, that shuts off the injectors during cranking. It's how you start it if it's flooded. Pumping the pedal shouldn't have any real impact on the fuel, should it? Scott

    Brake/Linelock Questions...

Adam, I have a non-ABS car, and all I did was put the line-lock between the MC and the prop valve. It worked great. I had to get two adaptors for the standard line that I bought. I know one was a bubble flare to 45* DF for the MC. I think the other one was similar, but a different size for...
