    transmission question

I drained and refilled the tranny fluid last weekend w/ 3.2 L (3.4 quarts) of non-synthetic dex III ATF fluid. It was a big improvement in the 1-2-3 shifts on cold startups. I've got 2 questions: 1, I noticed a very small amount of tranny fluid on the floor this morning when backing the car...

    Mobil 1 Synth ATF

What about the automatic transmission thing? is that ok to put in a manual? auto zone said so but I want to double check w/ people who know better

    Mobil 1 Synth ATF

I know this has been talked about many times before but the search button is not cooperating...so I apologize!!! I have the wonderful TREMEC 3650 1-2-3 shifts on cold starts and I'm changing the fluid to Mobil 1 synthetic ATF @ 3.2 quarts. Now, it says automatic transmission on the bottle but...

    TB/Plenum lining up

Sorry to bump this up but, I did more research and I found that the plenums are all 75mm openings apparently. What I really need to know is, do the 75 mm accufab plenums measure 75mm in diameter at the opening (before the throttle plate) or only after or where it hooks up to the plenum. My...

    TB/Plenum lining up

Ah, that would make sense because I just came back inside from measuring/checking/comparing with my old stock TB and the plenum opening measures right at 75mm. What still gets me is that the 70mm FRPP TB and stock TB intake openings are both the same exact diameter. The 70mm FRPP opening...

    TB/Plenum lining up

They line up just right and I have a gasket for it, it just seems like the TB opening is smaller than the plenum opening, even though they should both be 70mm. I never really measured the openings but I guess that would be one way to check

    TB/Plenum lining up

The other day when I had my intake tube off to get to header bolts, I ran my finger inside the TB (it's a Ford Racing 70mm hooked up to a 70mm Accufab Plenum) out of curiosity. I found that there is a gap between where the TB opens up to the Plenum. It seems that, just by feel, the plenum...

    Car feels "bumpy"...help!!!

I think some people have done it before, but I wouldn't risk it...Dropping the K-member may sound like more work but it's way more convenient and not that bad if you have the right tools/help

    Car feels "bumpy"...help!!!

I figured it out...I sat up last night searching and feeling scared that I had done something bad. I went outside this morning, lifted the front end, and found that my driver side tire was...well...loose. Apparently I completly forgot to tighten it back since I was originally going to take it...

    Car feels "bumpy"...help!!!

Sorry if this is kind of long but I need some help! I decided to tighten my header bolts some. I was going to drop the k-member but then I decided to just jack up the engine to tighten down a couple of bolts. Here is what I did. 1. I removed the passenger side tire (I thought I was going to...

    Which x?

Hmm I didn't know they had changed anything about buying off road pipes. The reason I was thinking about changing to an X is because I was reading all those pages about how they were more efficient than the H. But you all don't think it's worth it I'm guessing?

    Which x?

I'm looking into switching my off-road h to an off-road x pipe. It needs to be a shorty and it needs to fit BBK LT's. So far when I searched I found out that Dr. Gas or VRS will fit. I hear BBK x pipes sound like crap but what about the other two? anybody have any suggestion? Gabe

    Catback problems

I finally got it to fit right w/ my roommate helping me hold the mufflers in place. It's still real close but I drove around and hit some dips w/o hearing any bad scrapes. I spent a while trying to line up the tips too :bang: that was a pita and they're still not perfect...the pipe is rubbing...

    Catback problems

I spent most of the afternoon yesterday cutting off the old cat back and installing a new mac cat back. Everything went well except I'm scraping in the rear end when it hits a bump/depression in the road. It seems like it's scraping near the rear axle on a metal bar that moves up and down...

    Name that sound...

Well, I did some research and I'm thinking maybe it's that tube that bolts to the header (EGR???) is leaking on the driver side...I think it's probably a leak but why didn't seam foam leak out when I ran the car?

    Name that sound...

75% of the time I put the clutch in between gear shifts I get a weird scratching/airy sound coming from the engine bay. I've retightened my headers the best I could and the mid-pipe. I also ran seafoam yesterday (3rd time and still kicks a$$ :nice: ) and couldn't see any smoke in the engine...

lt headers and a lowered car

I have BBK LT's w/ h-pipe and ford c-springs and I've scraped the LT's and h-pipe way too many times. Speed bumps and creases in the road are huge problems for me :nonono:
