Car and Driver Review- 05 Stang vs. 05 GTO

I'll maintain some civility if you will. So, the last article states as of Nov 1, they've sold 9,487 and dealers had 5,900 stockpiled in inventory. That adds up to 15,387. While that's not 18,000, it's very close. The question is this: are the production lines still running? If so, then...

    OK Troll-boy... explain these news stories: http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/wheels/articles/1204wheels04autoreport.html http://www.gulfweeklyworldwide.com/article.asp?Sn=2093&Article=7182 http://www.drive.com.au/editorial/article.aspx?id=8862&vf=2&bg=1&pp=1...

    40th anniversary

If I'm not mistaken, all the 1964 1/2 Mustangs actually have VINs that show them as 1965 MY. So, going by VINs, there aren't any 1964 model Mustangs.

Car and Driver Review- 05 Stang vs. 05 GTO

Yeah, it's so limited production that they have a 167 day inventory stockpiled and they're cutting production by 30% next year. It's amazing to me that someone can shrug off the fact that a limited production, high-performance vehicle can barely sell two-thirds of it's first years production...

    Unibodies suck

Mustangs have always been unibody going all the way back to the original 1964 model.

2005 Ford Mustang GT is the "Best Muslce Car"

I found this on the web and it follows what I've always believed: That being said, they're are cars that don't fit this mold that are considered muscle cars (i.e. Mach 1's, Boss Stangs). Here's the link: http://www.musclecarclub.com/musclecars/general/musclecars-definition.shtml

Car and Driver Review- 05 Stang vs. 05 GTO

If sales jumped by 177% and they're only at 53% of planned this late in the year, then the early sales must have been truly pathetic. Yes, you are correct that it's too late to sell all the 2004s. I'm sure that's why 2005 production has been scaled back. To me it's a shame. I used to be a...

Car and Driver Review- 05 Stang vs. 05 GTO

Don't think so scooter. They've only sold 53% of planned sales by 11/1/04. Yes, the incentives have increased sales but not dramatically. If they had increased as much as you seem to think, they wouldn't have 127 days worth of inventory stockpiled.

Car and Driver Review- 05 Stang vs. 05 GTO

Really? Then how come the articles I've read state it's due to slow sales? Here's two examples: http://www.autoweek.com/news.cms?newsId=101273 http://theaustralian.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5744,11481104%255E2702,00.html If you've got an article that contradicts these, please...

Car and Driver Review- 05 Stang vs. 05 GTO

Yeah, there's nothing like the thrill of owning another GM marketing failure! :nice: Seriously, I understand what you're saying but you underestimate Mustang owners. After all, the limited edition Mustangs like the Mach 1 and Cobra sell very well because they are more unique and rare than...

Car and Driver Review- 05 Stang vs. 05 GTO

At the beginning of November, 9,487 GTOs had been sold with a stockpile of approx. 5,900 (a 127 day supply...yikes!). GM has already reduced 2005 production by 30% from 18,000 units to 12,000. All the GTO owners brag about being able to get a GTO for around $26K but I personally don't think...

Car and Driver Review- 05 Stang vs. 05 GTO

Every C&D comparo is subjective. Why do think BMW almost always wins even when the other cars out-perform them? The C&D writers and testers are offering their opinion of which car is more desirable apart from the performance numbers. It's the intangible part of any comparison.

Break-in period of new 2005 stangs

Dinosaur aka conventional oil is refined from crude oil pumped out of the ground. Synthetics are just that: synthetic. Everything in them is completely man-made. There are are also synthetic blends which are a combination of both types.

Car and Driver Review- 05 Stang vs. 05 GTO

I really have no problem with this for one simple reason: the fact that you see Mustangs everywhere is why it's been in existance for 40 years and is still going strong to this day.

Car and Driver Review- 05 Stang vs. 05 GTO

I loved mine too but once it got to the point where every time I needed a part I was told "it'll be 2-3 days before we can get it in", I had to say buh-bye! The Mazda 6 has been a great replacement. Similar size and power but much higher quality and a vastly superior suspension. I'm trying to...
