    Official Tremec 3650 Issues Thread

    How much fluid is in your tranny? Try refilling it with regular dino-oil to around 3.4qts. My T3650 shifted like cr@p when filled any higher. I wish I could have kept the T45.. that tranny never gave me any problems. :(

    5w20, better gas mileage?

    I've used both grades and haven't observed and noticeable change in mileage. I'd go 5w20 if Walmart had it in the 5qtr jug (Mobil 1), but I usually run 5w30 instead. 5w20 is usually pretty hard to find too - even the Ford synthetic blend.

    Went to replace gt badges on the side, but, we have a paint problem...

    That exact thing happened to me when I decided to put on "281" emblems on the side of my Gt. Since I had the front end repainted, taking the GT badge off resulted in the same outline shown in your pictures (never be using that bodyshop again!). I ended up just putting the GT emblems back on...

    Thumbs up to you for being able to resist! I ended up trading in my 00' GT for a Mach 1.. I'm glad I did it, but at times I miss the GT (especially the cheap payments, and the fact that I almost had the car paid off :doh: ).

    When I had my hood repainted, I drove the car for a few days without the stripe. Didn't look good IMO.

    Taking the air silencer off my kenne bell stang

    Think of it this way: If it is safe to put on KB's cold air intake, why wouldn't it be safe to remove your silencer? Removing the silencer and upgrading the intake plumbing both are a step towards more airflow, which is good for making the KB perform better. Yank it, and don't worry. ;)

    :nice: Exhaust "turn-downs" are used to point the exhaust at the ground. Exhaust that is allowed to exit with no forced direction away from the undercarriage can contribute to excess heat in the differential & fuel tank. Same issue could apply to your tranny if exhaust gases are constantly...

    I'm with ya. I've never played with nitrous before, and I'm not thinking of going with a 50 or 75 shot - DRY.. just something to have fun with every so often when getting on the highway. My only concern is that I'd probably use the nitrous so seldom, that it may not be worth the hassle come...

    I hated Magnaflow too. I recommend Borla Stingers.. but if you dare try chambered mufflers with an X, MAC.
