    Unisteer Rack & Pinion

Well F me in the A - I just put on a set of brand new ceramic coated tri-ys. Stangninjak -did they tell you what the problem w/ the headers was. I am opposed to removing them but not so much opposed to going to work w/ a ball pien hammer if its minor clearance issues. I guess I can see if...

    Unisteer Rack & Pinion

For $575 I'm on board. I ordered one from summit tonight but they say that it wont be shipped until next friday at the soonest. I was in the process of pricing out all new steering components (everything from out tie rod ends to the box) and the total was going to be higher than this. - I'm...

    Fuel Line.............

Along the lines of the fuel pump eccentric - make sure that the lever on the pump is on the correct side of the eccentric. If installed incorrectly the eccentric will come around and push the lever up rather than down. EDIT - upon thinking about this I may be feeding you missinformation...

    Unisteer Rack & Pinion

$$$? Mind sharing what a "dam good price" is? I have been thinking about trying this out for a little while since I need to "tighten up" my front end over the next few months. Did you buy direct from the manufacturer? Trevor

    Home Alignment

The car isnt lowered yet but will be in the near future which is why I want to do a home alignment instead of paying for 2. I'll prob only put about 1-200 miles on it before I lower it. Just got it back together this week and I am not just ready to render it useless again. (I havent driven the...

    Home Alignment

I just got my car all back together and mounted my new '06 GT wheels and new tires. The car now needs to be lowered a bit so I plan to do the shelby drop. In the meantime - next couple of weeks - I want to run the car around town to make sure everything is in good working order. The tires...

1966 289 heads and exhaust manifolds

I removed these recently when I switched over to a set of 351 heads and tri-y headers. I planned on keeping them because I thought they were original to my car but when I pulled the valve covers and saw the 66 castings I have no need for them. Both were in good working order. These were on the...

Who has a Comp Cams Xtreme Energy XE250H Cam

... one more once it was ready to "idle" (800rpm w/ a manual). http://s65.photobucket.com/albums/h220/Lonn17/?action=view&current=tide016.flv&refPage=&imgAnch=imgAnch1 P.S. I dont usually keep the boat halfway on the driveway but the tide-surge from yesterdays NorEasterly winds put it...

Who has a Comp Cams Xtreme Energy XE250H Cam

Just finished my cam install - comp cams XE274H. Here is a video of it running w/ open headers. Sounds pretty mean now. We'll see w/ the mangaflow installed. http://s65.photobucket.com/albums/h220/Lonn17/?action=view&current=tide015.flv&refPage=&imgAnch=imgAnch1 (this was cold start w/...

Coolant/Oil Mixing - found freeze plug in oil pan

Ok guys, put thread sealer on all the head bolts, retorqued then and then tore it down to the cam gear and replaced the oil galley plug in question. Reassemble the front end w/ thread sealer on all bolts that went into the block and it appears to have fixed the problem. I'll find out when I put...

Coolant/Oil Mixing - found freeze plug in oil pan

Can pressure testing it reveal the whereabouts of a leak or just let me know if I still have one once I "fix" things? Trevor

Coolant/Oil Mixing - found freeze plug in oil pan

I used permatex and I think it is probably sufficient but I may as well make sure this isnt the problem. I'll prob just use permatex again because I doubt anyone stocks the ARP stuff locally. By good pressure - my new autometer was reading 50psi at about 2200rpm. I have a standard volume oil...

Coolant/Oil Mixing - found freeze plug in oil pan

Thanks for the replies guys. Spoofty, in my pics I can clearly see the two plugs you have but I have a bad angle (in about 6 or 7 picks, doh!) on the same one that you are missing. I am pretty sure that is the responsible party on that front. Regargind the coolant problem I plan to take...

Coolant/Oil Mixing - found freeze plug in oil pan

I had the heads CC'd before I installed them and they were at 60 - these are '70 351W heads. I think this is stock. They are port matched to a 1262 felpro intake gasket. I know that the port I switched the heater hose to is the rear-most driverside port which I am certain isn't a vacuum...

Coolant/Oil Mixing - found freeze plug in oil pan

Ok, I'll check my pics tonight when I get home also. If its not this plug what are the other avenues for collant getting into the oil and vice versa? Head gasket, head bolts, intake gaskets....? I guess I should start with which bolts go through water jackets and reseal them all. I have...

Coolant/Oil Mixing - found freeze plug in oil pan

Are these the only 1/2" plugs that could get to the oil pan? I want to try and get this fixed in one shot this week since I my lease is up and I have to be out of my garage this friday. To remedy this do I have to go in through the timing cover or can I drop the oil pan and knock it in from...

Coolant/Oil Mixing - found freeze plug in oil pan

The the title says... Just finished doing a lot of work to the car (headers/heads/cam/roller rockers....) and finally got it running saturday for the cam break-in. I got good pressure and coolant stayed the right temp. Right before I shut it down I noticed steam coming out of the breather. When...

Engine wont start after cam/head swap

It runs! Thanks for all the help guys. Timing tape was correct. When I initially set it I was running the wrong firing order. After messing with it a bunch I wasn't getting it all the way to TDC. Pulled the valve cover and dropped in the distributor and was @14* and she ran beautifully. Now...
