    Feb issue of 5.0

not sure how many of you subscribe to the different mustang rags, but in the february issue of 5.0, on page 118 there is a picture of what i'm guessing is an '09 cobra. it apparently is a "project" car of theirs. can anyone tell me the color of that car and direct me to more pics of that car...

    '87 GT build

just wanted to add a small update on my progress.... got the front suspension completely removed over the weekend. the only thing left in there is the k-member power steering rack. i also took off the front bumper cover. everytime i open the hood and see all of the wires, vacuum lines...

    351 hp rating?

i believe the "standard" 351 in later model vehicles were rated at 210. i have no idea what torque ratings they had. check with smokedya, he's got a 351 and i think it dynoed at 319hp.

    2 tone paint

in my opinion, it wouldn't do it for me. just to be sure, find someone who's good at photoshopping pics and have them do up a car with those colors. like stated above, it would look VERY much like a highway patrol car.

    The Official "4-Mod-Fox" progress thread

color combos are tough for me to envision. i'm having the same difficulty working with my project. but i think that #2 would have the most "POP" when you open the hood. #2 :nice:

    powdercoating

a little more on this...... apparenlty Lye will also strip anodizing off. i'm going to try that route first. and i also checked out powder by the pound. i think they have the blue i'm after. caswell and eastwood both have blues but not "the" blue i'm after. now i just want to make sure i...

    powdercoating

i just got a quick email back from caswell regarding the color and the fact that the parts are anodized. they say i'll need to use an anodizing/chrome stripper, then coat the parts for 10 minutes at 400*.

is there any difference in applying the candy coatings? caswell has a "lollypop blue" that, from the pic anyway, looks like it closely matches what's on my boat already. any special precautions, advice, prep work, etc. right above the color chart it says it needs to be applied "over polished...

    '71 Mach 1

other than the heads, is there any difference in blocks between the big windsor and the cleveland? is the bore and stroke any different, physical size, etc?? would there be any benefit to building a cleveland over a windsor? thanx for the input so far. i've tried researching the Shelby...

    powdercoating

i didn't seem to notice this issue with the red, but yellow really applied differently. it seemed like the gun kept running out of powder unless it was pointed almost horizontal or slightly down. i'm hoping it's an issue with the color and not the gun. i tried changing up the PSI and it...

    '71 Mach 1

yes i realize that this topic is a FAR cry from a foxbody but i figured what the **** so i have a friend of mine that offered up a '71 Mach 1 to me for $2000. it supposedly has a Cleveland motor (that he claims is rebuilt), it has an interior that was redone 3 years ago but the car sat...

    spindle removal

got one spindle off. came off just like you guys said it would. i won't have a chance to remove the other side for a couple of days, but i'm sure it will work out the same way. thanx for the help!! :nice:

    powdercoating

actually, i believe the problem was the angle at which i had to hold the gun to coat that end of the part. i'm going change the way i hang parts from now on so i don't have to aim the gun up. the yellow did seem to have a harder time flowing through the gun and it liked to have the gun more...

    powdercoating

here's a couple of pics of how it turned out..... on the right side of each pic, you can see the powder is a bit thin. i know why this happened and that will be corrected on the next job. other than that, the job came out very good....IMHO :D on to the next one.
