    which opens first???????

If in compression stroke TDC, you would have to turn crankshaft CW close to 180° for the exhaust valve to start opening..... if you are in the exhaust/intake changeover cycle TDC, the intake would start opening immediately after you start rotating the crankshaft. BTW... don't you mean the...

    347 stroker cylinder heads

Yes..... No.... it was my own personal experience. Which one? There are more than one. By the same token, please answer the same questions based on your own personal experience.

    Why?.....

    347 stroker cylinder heads

Performer heads and street heat intake = too small, improve those areas + a custom camshaft, and you'll have driveability + performance. Alternatives?.... TFS TW 190cc "fast as cast", Canfield 195... intakes?... Victor Jr. with elbow, TFS Box-R.

    Processor control the fuel pump?

Yep.....initial IGN ON = prime shot and PIP signal presence (evidence engine is turning) = keep fuel pump relay on.

    trickflow trickery?

They do have the equivalent strategy, it's called the "WOT Crank De-Choke Function" in Ford's OBD-I.

    Code 41 and 91

For the PCV grommet, clean grommet and intake, and a little Ultra-Black works to ensure it seals and it doesn't pop-up. Regarding the FP..... that is what you're going to find out, if the 33 PSI is not enough, the next questions inline is..... why?...... but you need to ID if at 42 or 47 or 50...

    Code 41 and 91

Looks like the EEC cannot increase the fuel trim without the "aid" of some fuel through a vacuum line. Now the issue is to ID why. Did the engine show the signs of a too rich A/F during the KOER under those conditions? (black smoke, rough idle, etc) Things to recheck: Exhaust leaks at the...

    Code 41 and 91

Disconnect line from FPR and while the KOER is running, dip the open vacuum line in a container with some fuel, if the line is too short, attach an extension vacuum hose. As I mentioned, you may have to control how much fuel is allowed to be sucked through the vacuum line/hose, so the engine...

    Code 41 and 91

PCV... remove hose from valve and plug hose, leave PCV valve open, also remove TB to oil filler neck hose and plug TB port.... leave oil filler neck hose open. FPR vacuum line..... remove and plug it, run a KOER and check if codes 41/91 show again. If they do...... Take a container with...

    Code 41 and 91

Do you have an open breather installed as an oil cap on the RH valve cover? ... is the breather hose from the oil filler neck connected to the TB?...... if so, you need to restore it to the OEM configuration (oil cap and breather hose). You could also use the system to verify O2 signals, cause...

Who's a Good Custom Cam Grinder??

Black1987Stang, First of all my apologies for the second part of this post. Second, the experience I've had with the camshafts I've ordered from Camshaft Innovations, have been only superseded by the customer support during and after the purchase.... and the no BS approach (as in also...

Who's a Good Custom Cam Grinder??

.... wow...you really want to drag this to the ground don't you? ... or, as you say, is the above slander another of your "feeble attempts at humor" by continuing to question the integrity of people at random?...... It does say a lot of how honorable your personality should...

    Speed density nerds only please!

If adaptive strategy is used in the logic, it does affect any "open loop" condition....... including WOT. Old school '88 setup with an AOD I've worked on, requires a system KAM reset at the track every time, in order to obtain the best ET's.

Check engine light on after EEC IV switch

Open that ECM and check for the following........ If the above is the case, all you need is a soldering iron + solder + piece of wire to fix it like..... Just make sure that before you install it, 12vdc doesn't show up in a DVOM voltage check at pin 46, with key in IGN ON and when you...

Vehicle Speed Sensor on 87 GT?

So true...so true...... :nonono:.... specially for the guys at Manufacturing.

Vehicle Speed Sensor on 87 GT?

Think about it for a sec....... why would Ford add the input from the VSS sensor to the MAF ECM's (pins 3 & 6), if the ECM is not used for cruise control purposes? Is it specified in the GUFB logic for idle control requirements?......
  19. joel5.0

Vehicle Speed Sensor on 87 GT?

If your '87 is still a speed density system, the VSS is not used for idle control. If it was converted to MAF, the EEC does use it for idle control and will cause a surging idle and possible stalls when coming to a stop. Do go over the self test routines to check what could be causing that...

Can't get TPS voltage above .15 volts - part 2

It does make sense, if you use the variable resistor the TPS is, and check voltage between VREF and TP, you read the out of range values you've posted, with the SIGRTN wire removed from the TPS....... the resistor portion is removed from the TPS, TP wire reading should be = to VREF input, which...
