Cost to get the engine installed

I'm about 45 minutes east of Pensacola (Ft. Walton Beach). Thanks for the contact, BTW. I know that MikeSVOR isn't too far away from where i'm at, but I don't think he'd be able to help. I don't know of any clubs, though. I'll start with Panhandle, and the gentleman in Pensacola, before I go...

thinking about buyin an svo but have a few questions.

No, they use a VAM (Vane Air Meter). It's a heavy, crappy device. If you get an SVO, be sure to swap in the larger VAM if it doesn't already have it.

Cost to get the engine installed

I just don't have the time to work on my turbo engine anymore. I've had this damn thing for over a year, and i've spent over $2000 on new parts for it. What can I expect to spend for a performance shop to install and tune the engine? I'm right down the street from Panhandle Performance, so i've...

    Livernois Dynoes '05 Mustang GT

Ford (or engineers in Ford) have said that the computer is the biggest limiter on the 05 'Stang. I believe that the Steeda tune will add 20 PEAK rwhp.

    Autoweek 05 Review

What a stupid point. A well-equipped 350Z costs, what? $30,000? The GTO, $33,000? The fact remains that the 2005's live rear is the most advanced design EVER for a stock Mustang.

2.3l foxes have rear wheel drive?

Check junkyards, or ebay. You can expect to pay between 150-500 dollars for a complete engine, depending on who you talk to and where you find it. Yeah, the block is the same (except for the oil and water lines), but the pistons are forged instead of cast. Those two things are the reason you...

stock HP of an 2.3l 88?

You COULD turbo the 2.3 n/a engine, but you'll blow the pistons before you realize what happened. Plus, you'll have to mod the oil pan so that the turbo can get oil. You'll want the turbo version of the engine because it has forged pistons and lower compression to handle more boost. It's just...

alarm is messing with the stang

Yeah, you'll need to check out the manual/wiring diagrams for the alarm system, because not all of them are the same.

2.3l foxes have rear wheel drive?

And better gas mileage. Biggest of all, the swap is far easier than a 5.0 swap, becuase you'd have to change out pretty much everything to make it work properly. The 2.3 turbo engine is pretty much the same as the n/a 2.3, so the swap is relatively straightforward.

think this would be worth 180$

I went to Ultimate Electronics when I got my player installed. $35 install for everything I bought (deck, wiring, amp, subs) The dude who installed had this Grand Am with a 12" sub that hit so hard it gave me nausea.

stock HP of an 2.3l 88?

Yup. $500-$1000 for the frugal swapper. Between 150-200hp at first, depending on how much boost you run.

    whats naturally aspirated mean?

It means that the engine breathes on it's own, rather than having the air forced in by other means. Forced Induction means the engine gets more air forced into it than it could pull in otherwise (Supercharged, Turbo, N20).
