Who Had their II before the internet?

My first II was a 77 coupe I bought in 84 and still have it in my garage. I dealt with yards in NJ, Maryland and Pa where there were many II's and parts could be bought reasonably. I didn't have to go to the swap meets for II parts. Today it's more difficult finding parts because most yards...

    BURNT!! dash wiring help?

Electrical troubleshooting is simple if you keep in mind that all electrical circuits are basically electricity running from the battery, through the wires, switches, relays, fuses and fusible links to each electrical component and to ground, from which it is passed back to the battery. Any...

    BURNT!! dash wiring help?

My wiring chart shows the yellow/black (hash) wire going to the radio receiver. If the radio fuse didn't blow than the wire just didn't ground out on any metal section yet. For your turn signals you can check the small ground wires on each side of the radiator mounting brackets to see if...

    Need engine help :(

Sounds like it may be off on timing and backfired. A 670 cfm carb is too much for a stock motor too. I had a Holly 650 DP on my worked 308 and it ran excellent but was a hair too rich and would get my new sythentic oil dirty in about 500 miles. I just changed the carb out to a Holly 600cfm...

    800 orig mile King Cobra

I bought a King about two years ago with the same interior as the one on ebay. ( May it rest in peace). I thought someone had replaced the seats from another II. That's a nice King. Just wonder if it will bring close to the buy it now price.

    Electric Fan Wiring Question

2muchtime, That's a very detailed report for the Taurus fan install. That should cover everything needed for this fan setup. Tim, no offense was taken to anything you said in your previous post. I didn't mean to sound like Adolf and wasn't trying to come across that way. I only meant that I...

    Electric Fan Wiring Question

Tim, I did see a few of your fan install pictures in a recent post but thanks for reposting them for me. It looks like a nice clean installation and just about made to fit the II. I don't half step on any work I do because I don't like doing the same job twice. I'll probably order the fan...

    Electric Fan Wiring Question

2muchtime, Great! Pictures won't be necessary. You provided all the information needed for me to go ahead with mounting the fans. Both my shrouds have the bolts on the bottom instead of the clips but I'll be able to find the clips needed to slide the shroud assembly into for the correct fit...

    Electric Fan Wiring Question

2muchtime, Thanks for your response to my question. I'm sure the fans I bought are from a 3.8 Taurus. They measure 22" wide x 16" length. I'll go back to the yard where I bought them and ask which vehicles they came off of. I'll be able to get the wiring I need too. I looked at the 3.0 Taurus...

    Electric Fan Wiring Question

I decided to install an electric fan on my coupe and my Mach. I bought two Tauras fans today but didn't get any of the wiring from the cars. Will I need the relay or wiring harness from the original vehicle for these fans? What would be the best way to wire the fan so I can use both speeds and...

Camshaft sepcialists.. I need your help

The Lunati Bracket Master II cam would be my choice for a street cam with excellent power across a broad power band with a "lopey" idle. Works at 1500-5000 rpm, gross lift is 488". Jegs sells the cam and lifter kit for 147.99.

    V8 Vacuum Hoses

I need some help in connecting all the vacuum hoses on a 78 302, 2bbl., C4 Mach. It's all factory with smog pump and ported vacuum switches. I wasn't able to find a diagram for the V8 anywhere. Anybody have a picture or diagram of their V8 factory setup showing where every hose is connected on...

    Starter Madness

Not trying to insult your intelligence, but do you have the seperator plate installed between the bell and rear engine block? The reason I ask is that this has happened to me with a II I bought a while back. The seperator plate was not reinstalled when the former owner did a motor change. It...

    HEATER CORE!!!!!!!!!

If you have an a/c equipped II it would be easier to remove the complete dash shell to get the heater box removed. I replaced the heater core in my 75 coupe and my 78 Mach, both have a/c heater boxes. Once the box is removed from the car you can split the box by removing the clips, as previously...

Removal of chrome around windows help?

You can still get the clips for the front and rear trim pieces at a body shop supply house or upholstery shop. The roof rail trim on either side of the vehicle has a different type clip and are very hard to find. I stash as many as I can find in good shape from the yards.

    Music styles :-D ?

When I feel like listening to music it has to be classic rock. Zeppelin :hail2: Sabbath Hendrix Dead Iron Butterfly Jefferson Airplane (Grace Slick) And many more good groups I can't listen to Ghetto Rap. It's too much about violence and gives me headaches. Motown reminds me...
