Question on letting car warm up

Agree on having the codes scanned. Could be an alternator issue. Coolant temps usually rise in stop/go traffic and drop when driving at highway speeds due to the large amount of air entering the radiator. Your T-stat may be OK if you do get heat during your 14 mile trip.

    help

It may be time to take the car in. From your description, it could be a bad MAF to a bad fuel pump. Find a good shop to run some tests so you don't end up pissing away good money replacing everything.

    help

No need for 93 octane unless you have a power adder or higher compression than factory. Your car will run best on regular. (I doubt this will fix your problem but it will save you some money.)

    Whatever Happened To...

I had warned Ponyup1 via PM to take a few days off from posting to diffuse the situation. Instead, he comes back to add fuel to the fire. I'd bet he's a youngster. (I'm almost 50.) I hope he's happy now that he got the bant.

My wife and I have a 2008 base Malibu. When I test drove the optional V6 and floored it, it was a pleasant surprise. It had a good amount of pep, more than I expected.
