    There's no logic behind offering only an automatic in the Thunderbird, or the Chevy SSR. Yet that's the situation. American (and Asian) car manufacturers have no connection with logic of any kind. German makers seem a little better, but not a lot. :shrug:

    That looks like the bogus hood that was on my Firebird, before I took it off and put a functional RamAir on. Yuk. Although I like my Firebird, I also like Mustangs - why would you want to copy a Firebird on a Mustang? Leave the hood smooth, like a fast car.

    I don't understand that comment about uncomfortable. I've been driving a Firebird (same seats) for 7 years and 120k miles and find it very comfortable. (unless it is due to the belt gear of the uniform - when I wore a deputy's badge, that was the worst part about driving - this was in the 70s)...

    Good illustration of why the 05 is called "boxy". Not long and low like the 65. Both are beautiful cars, but I think the '05 would look good with about a 2" sectioning job. (The hot rodder in me, I guess.)

    That has just as much room as my Firebird RamAir. You don't use a cone filter, you use a flat filter that fits up against the functional hood scoop. Contrary to popular lore, it does make a difference at slow speeds.... but above 85 or so, it really gets eager!!

    Looks like it is just itchin' for a nice K&N airbox directly in front of the intake and a RamAir hood directing air right into it. That would be delicious!!! :nice:

    oil pan for 5.0 swap

    OR do what I did: solder the dipstick tube into the side of the new (old 289) oil pan. Easier... works the same but shorter, so the stick needs to be cut. That way the timing cover and all the serpentine belts stay as factory.
