    Holy Crow! I bought and installed an Autopower 6pt in my 66 for less than $800. I did all the work so I saved that labor cost, it's really not that hard.

    Hood Pin style's

    I have the std pins with cables. I heated up a very small clear tubing and put it over the cable so it wouldn't scratch up the paint. If you decide to go cable less (which is fine IMO) it just makes it easier to lose the pins. That's why I have the cables. I have a couple of pics at my site...

    Most of the parts houses sell the bushing that you're looking for. I replaced both of my latches and found them. That was a couple years ago!

    Driving still feels unsafe.

    I've replaced everything in the steering and suspension dept. Flaming river box, roller perches, heim joint strut rods, roller idler arm, tie rods, center link, shocks, springs, blah...blah....blah. The 66 drives and handles like a new car! It's better then I'd hoped for in an old design.

    dynomax???

    The wheels are 15 x 7 TTD's with Dunlop 215/60R-15's, ground clearance is ok. I need to get the rear changed to stop the tires from rubbing the fender lip! That is a problem leftover from the PO.

    Holley Carb Fuel Slosh question

    I've had the same problems with my 600 DP! I added the jet extensions, didn't change. Adjusted the float levels, didn't change. Added a dashpot.....Ta Daaaa!! It doesn't die when braking hard now!!

    You can go to my site below and on page 2 it has all the specs and what I did to the engine. When I first dyno'd it, she was putting 278hp and 254tq to the ground, that was in Kansas. Dyno'd it 2 weeks ago here in Oregon and it showed 214hp and 254tq to the ground. I haven't tuned it yet for...

    Brake Diagnosis

    Have you checked the fluid level? Bled the brakes lately? Visually check the pads and shoes? As the pads and shoes wear the fluid will drop to compensate for the lost space.

    Installing Shocks

    I usually put the stands under the rear axle tubes, close to the ends, but not in the way of the shock. It gives a little more room under there with the rear suspension compressed. You can also put them under the rear frame rails and let the axle hang.

    I always put the car up on 4 stands and do them all. Works for the 66 and worked great last week when I did the F250!

    9 inch???

    If it measures 54 1/4" inside flange to inside flange then it will work width wise. You may need to relocate the spring perches. The 9" in my 66 is from a truck. It was in the car when I bought it and I did have to relocate the perches. The knucklechuck that installed it, probably years before...

    posi vs. limited slip

    I have a True-Trac locker in my 66. All gears and no noise. I love it so far!
