    will 79-93 water pump work on my 289

    is there a difference in depth of the shaft on the pumps? i see the 289 timing covers have a profile that accepts the impeller on the pump (no backing plate) and the later ones have a backup plate on the waterpump and the impeller is set outside the timing cover.

    Intake Finish - Natural or Blasted?

    they all get dirty after a while. wheel etching acid cleans them up pretty well but ends up looking white like the blasted one. i am going with the blasted look since my torker is 30 yrs old. there are nice powdercoat finishes available that would also work well.

    who makes the best crate engines?

    I went with frrp 347 short block, same one used in the Z 450hp complete engine assy. The guy I spoke with @ ford said they were no longer going to produce short blocks, so if you want one you need to find one in stock somewhere.
