    Questions abouit Nittos...

Sure, they are superior as far as traction goes. . . . but they suck as far as wet roads and treadwear go. Since the original poster is wanting a set of daily driving tires that will last a little while, he should be more interested in the Nittos over the BFG's.

    302 block and heads

It may not be a bad price for all that they are doing; however, you have to ask yourself if it is worth it. I don't think it's worth it. Especially when you can buy a DSS short block for around $2000 and have all new (and better) parts.

    Questions abouit Nittos...

It's always a trade-off; performance ain't cheap. Why drop money into more horsepower if your not going to spend any more on getting it to the ground?

    T5 issue

You'r cluster gear may be worn at the input shaft -- that would make sense since every gear uses the cluster except for 4th gear.

ARP main studs hit oil pump! help

I have a Canton girdle on my 418w and they actually tell you that you may need to grind on the pump to make it fit (if you use a high-volume pump). I had to take metal off the area that Markus showed above, and I had to grind down the gussets on the side of the mounting arm. Also, I didn't...

    Questions abouit Nittos...

My experience is that the 555R's work really well in the rain until you get down to 1/3 of the tread left -- that should take about 8,000 mile with some light track duty. I have gotten 14,000 miles out of a set of 555R's, but they were pretty close to bald when I finally trashed them. Not...

help on pistons and piston rings for 351W?

Who picked your rings out? Certainly anybody who has done any kind of ring "shopping" has heard of file-fit rings. Ask your machinist -- I bet he has heard of them. . . . if not, then you may want to find yourself a different person to do your machine work. :)

    347 Balancer Problem.

Either buy the correct balancer, or see if the brand he has offers spacers. I know Professional Products has a variety of lengths that go with their balancers.

    computer question

I didn't say they weren't different; I said that there wouldn't be any adverse effects. Sure, the timing won't be as agressive and a few other things are different, but the car will still run and he probably won't tell a difference. I have seen more than one AOD car run with an A9L computer...

    computer question

:bs: The fox-body AOD uses no electronic control whatsoever; therefore, a 5-speed computer can be used with no adverse effects.

how are nittos in the rain?

I would have to disagree. I've had two sets of 555R's on my coupe and I'm now on my second set of 555's and I would say that they both do excellent in the rain and on dry road as long as you have at least 1/3 of the tread left. The traction starts to deminish shortly afterwards. I have...

help on pistons and piston rings for 351W?

I agree. :nice: I just finished my 351w with a 4.100" stroke and my block didn't need clearing. My block is a D2 (1972).

    4.6 Mass Air/W 5.0?

I had bad luck with the C&L meter I used. Mainly low-end resolution issues.

    4.6 Mass Air/W 5.0?

The connectors will be different. You can buy the adapter cable, but you will need a tuner to correct the calibration. FWIW, I'm using a Pro-M 3.5" univer with my A9M that was originally calibrated for a 96 Cobra. I'm using a TwEECer for the calibration.

Lots of racing and fun coming to Montgomery

I agree. That was the best track fee I ever spent -- well worth the $50 between no wait in the staging lanes and a very nicely prepped and managed track. Lots of great people, too. Thanks again Dave, Edgar, and everyone from T&J for putting in all the hard work. :nice:

    Longtubes and Transmission Removal

I've got long tubes and IMO they are a pain in the ass. I recomend a good set of shorties. LT headers may give you a slightly better horsepower increase, but it's not worth it when it comes to installing/removing them. Also, it makes other jobs more difficult not to mention making the starter...
