    Squeaky noise when clutch applied???

Things that are a headache when dropping a New Edge 5 speed: 1. starter bolt that has 4 inches of threads and enough room to do 1/12 of a turn at a time 2. outside pass side exhaust nut. the rest are easy to get to. this one takes the perfect combo of swivels and extensions. 3. getting the...

    gt supercharger ?

If it were mine, I'd boost lightly now (350 RWHP) and build a forged bottom end that you can drop in when you are ready. I'd also start with a Teksid aluminum block. They can be had around here for $150 at the pick-a-part as a complete engine. The B-heads do well with forced induction and...

These guys say not to on cars with coil packs. Coil on plug is fine. Don't Use Standard or Single Platinum Spark Plugs with Waste Spark DIS Ignition Systems

Yes. A double platinum plug should last another 100k miles if it doesn't have any other problems. Motorcraft plugs are well respected, Autolite a close second. Personally I dislike Honeywell who is the parent company of Autolite. Motorcraft double platinum FTW!

Not sure about the length thing. Platinum is not as expensive as it used to be. You only need the platinum on one electrode so ford only put it on one electrode. 4-6-8 plugs times millions cars means they saved several million dollars. The prices have come down and now they put the platinum...

    Squeaky noise when clutch applied???

I am happy with my Spec Stage 2. It was $330. I got a used aluminum flywheel for $50 (+$35 to get it machined) and installed it all myself. Stay away from the Spec Stage 1. Mine was toast after 5k miles. Also worth mentioning is the 03/04 Cobra replacement from Ford Racing for $270 and I...

Stock rods are on borrowed time with much more than 400 hp is what I've always heard. I'm not sure I'd want that much power _and_ sticky tires on a vert. If you do, make sure to beef up the torque boxes and get some good subframe connectors and strut tower brace.

I wouldn't mind changing my own plugs every 10k but on the GFs car, I'd never hear the end of it. "didnt you just put spark plugs in it?" "it acts funny at redlights" "it takes longer to crank" That said i have copper cores in mine.

    Squeaky noise when clutch applied???

My first guess is the bearing retainer. Its where the throwout bearing slides back and forth. Are you *sure* the noise goes away when the engine isn't running? What I am talking about happens regardless of the engine running. If you have the money, its a good idea to start planning on...

What are the part numbers on those? Either way go back with double platinum plugs if long plug life is important. The part number should be your stock part number with a PP on the end instead of the single P.

Ford was putting the platinum on either the center or ground electrode depending on where that cylinder was in the firing order and therefore on the coil polarity. Do the earlier mod motors use wasted spark?

Not much if you are near stock. What else have you done to the car? It is my understanding that your money is better spent elsewhere on our cars. The stock logs are not as horrible as iron manifolds used to be. That set up is going to run north of $600, possibly much farther north. For that...

    Blow Thru MAF ?

I told you wrong- it will run lean which is BAD. Do not drive it to McDonalds. You can drill your discharge tube after the MAF and tap it to pipe threads and screw in a hose barb if you think it is thick enough. I would go 3/8 NPT to a similarly sized hose and then get one of those barb to...

    Blow Thru MAF ?

That would leave un-metered air meaning it would run rich just like if you had a vacuum leak. The PCM would not be able to meter the airflow at idle either and parking lots will be a dangerous place. Would you make it to the hospital? Sure. Is it worth it to go to McDonalds? Not really...

    broken crankpulley need help

Sorry dude. Thats gotta suck. I know you are limited with your time and all but if it were mine I would grind down what's in the way and take the front cover off so I could use a 3-jaw puller or split it with a dremel. If you don't take the cover off, there is still a half inch minimum you...
