    Photo of '66 w/P205/70-R14 on Magnum 500's?

I have 215 70 14 on my magnums, and the rub just a touch, but none of my fenders are rolled. I like the look though.

Please help a newbie fix his first cam install

My guess would be that your valves may be adjusted too tight. I would cut the center out of an old junkyard valve cover and adjust them while the car is running. Too loose and they will clatter, but then you can get them just right, with practice. I got a valve cove at a u pull it yard for $5.

    289 header spark plug problem

I had the same problem with headers on my windsor Jr heads. You have to leave the headers loose, possibly with studs at both ends, and shorty accells do exist, and are necessary, and the plugs get torqued before the header goes on tight. A very thin plug socket and wrench does the trick. I...

you dont have windsor jr heads. And this isnt my first experience with headers, thank you.

Horse Power gain from Stock Headers to Shorty Headers

Spiro, I think we can all assume you have the log style exhaust manifolds. With the swap to shorty headers, you may give up a touch of torque on the bottom end, but will expand the top end rpm, and add a few hp. You will experience more noise, burned plug wires, and leaks to the head. Is it...

Overheating issues solved for $0 on long trip in 86GT.

To the original poster, I believe the blower fan is drawing too many amps due to age or lack of lubrication. This is common for 80-90's fords. I melted the fan speed switch in my pickup from the same problem. A new blower motor is an easy repair.

anyone bought anything from LAUREL MOUNTAIN MUSTANG

I had tire rubbing issues with the new arms (same wheels/tires). I ended up trimming the arms by the upper ball joints. I still had to use wheel spacers to keep the tires off the ball joints. Eventually I will replace them with some GW uppers. I wouldn't use Laurel again. I has the same...

Quick auto to manual question (tried search)

All of my mods so far had been bolt on restmod stuff, except for the T5. It really hurt me to hack on my baby for the sake of overdrive, but all in all, it was well worth it. I had to remove about an inch of the shifter opening, on the front.

T5 jumps out of second gear

Mine does the exact same thing. Only Only on downshift to second. I round corners in third now. Mine has done that even when it was freshly rebuilt by a very competent transmission specialist.

someone bought my car and is having problems with the axle leaking oil...need info

I thing the moral of the story would be, don't buy or sell cars on ebay. I got completely burned when I bought my "solid" 66. When I got it home, I sanded through 1/2 inch of bondo on both rear quarters, to find lots of rust, had stripped tranny bolts in bellhousing, and broken clutch bolts in...

Granada Front Disc Brakes and Wheel Fitment

I used a 3/8 aluminum spacer. I use 215/70/14 all the way around, if that helps.

Granada Front Disc Brakes and Wheel Fitment

IIRC, the wheels that require the hubs turned down are stock styled steel. Torqu thrust, slot mag, mag 500 all will work. My tires rubbed the end of the a arm, had nothing to do with the rotors.

Stripping a Versailles. What to keep?

Does it have rear dics brakes? If so, keep the rear, that is a cool upgrade. Keep the front spindles, they are identical to granada suspension, and can be an easy bolt in, with the before mentioned parts from Mustang Steve. I have his parts in my 66, and they work, period. the rest is...

    Distributor recommendation + Timing question

I would agree with the duraspark. Inexpensive, reliable, and you can trigger it with almost anything. I use a 4 prong GM HEI module. I keep a junkyard spare in the glove box, just in case. I have it hose clamped to the coil, and it has survived the elements for a couple years now, so I trust...

    crane 36655-16 ??

Broken rocker studs are common with this swap. If you have the time, pull the heads and have the bolt holes machined for 3/8 studs, and never worry about it again.

Granada Front Disc Brakes and Wheel Fitment

I have the 14x7 500's on my 66, and had to use a 3/8 spacer after I swapped in a laurel mt mustang front end kit. With stock a arms, they fit ok. I think backspacing is 3.5.
