    May have to wait a few months to get below MSRP. If you want to be first in line ...the dealers will be looking for some cash. Few months from now when the volume picks up, expect same dealers will be happy to get MSRP. Its all supply and demand, and right not the supply is zero.

    Anyone pre-order an 05 V6?

    Dealer order info said more like 32% V8's. Expect the pre-orders and early cars to run higher V8's, but long term they're saying 2/3 of 05 stangs will be the lobotimized V6's.

    My brother used to work for Auto supplier ... not uncommon to have 4 to 10 vehicles go out on an engineering evaluation drive ... sometimes with competitive vehicles, sometimes by themselves. And oh yeah, they do use public roads and stop at fast food locations for driver changes and coffee...

    Couple of points: First ... As a stock holder in major corporations, I hope they always take the customer's opinion into mind when making decisions. I just hope they do it up front, in the planning process, and do not change their position / strategy based on a few (or even hundreds) of emails...

    When is an order an order????? People say I order'd a new mustang ..... but when is an order an order? Walk into the dealer, say I want a new Mustang, the dealer says sure, takes $500 ... is this an order? Weeks later dealer gets actual info on options, now is it an order? Week later...

    Who sets the timing?? Oh yeah, Ford Execs who spent months on a launch strategy, including figuring the best time to feed dealers info, take orders, release pricing .... and probably spending millions with "agency partners" to determine the strategy ..... but they will walk away from that plan...
